They knew 28 wasn't going to happen, which is why they went so high. I thought maybe 20 and she'd serve 10 to 15. Attorney on fox4 last night said most cases they end up serving 85%. So she'll most likely serve 8. Two of the last cops charged with murder are serving a 10 year and a 15 year sentence. So this is in line with those.

I'm pretty confident I could determine that I'm not in my own house within 1-2 seconds of being inside. That being said, if I was going to exercise deadly force, I would need to evaluate the environment around me prior to pulling the trigger. super cop was 0 for 2. if I did shoot someone, and they were no longer a serious threat lying on the floor, 911 or first aid would be in order... O for 3. she got off easy.
When released, she will prob shack up with her divorced partner. She will have a good life.

I don't think a cop who killed an innocent man in his own house will have too much fun in prison.

So a group (some freedom of religion group) is freaking out about the judge handing Guyger a Bible.

She is still a convicted felon who will have to answer "Yes" to that question on her future job applications. She'll never be able to purchase a firearm or vote. Even once she gets out, her life isn't going to be a cakewalk.
IN TX I think you can own a gun you keep in your domicile. You can also vote after your sentence is completed.
It may have been in this or the poli thread but I think one of the biggest life long punishments for her is stripping her of her total identity. She is no longer an elite unit cop.

I'm not sure she was ever "elite".
If this is how the elite unit is trained to handle stuff, Dallas probably wants to re-examine that entire unit

So seeking out someone and picking a fight with them, then murdering them because you want to put an end to them is the right verdict?
No, it was not and it was not self defense and if anything he had every right to defend himself from some stranger at night coming after him. If anything he was the one who had self defense from the aggressor.
Any ways, now this a-hole is suing Trayvon’s family for a 100 million for some bs. Never mind he lied about his money, his own cousin accused him of rape, he punched his ex gf’s father, who he had lied for him, got into multiple road rage incidents waving his gun around since then, posted the dead body online in pride, and also got away with murder is now suing the family of a person HE frickING KILLED.
And you think it was the right verdict. He sought out someone who was doing NOTHING wrong, picked a fight, and ended up killing them. None of it ever had to be. He was not law enforcement. He’s a fricking maniac. He was a self appointed a-hole who falsely judged a black teen walking home.
