DJ AM died from the fire. Travis was soaked in Jet fuel and burned as well, approx 70% of his body. He only tours by bus now, which is insane considering the mileage, but understandable.

That's crazy. You know how lucky it is to survive a plane crash?
The NTSB says that 95% of people involved in air carrier accidents survive. Over 80% of people involved in major accidents survive.
Chances are slightly higher than you paying off a bet

DJ AM died about 11 months after the plane crash. He relapsed and was found with a crack pipe and a bag half filled with crack and prescription pills.

Knoxville News mentioned that there had been a plane crash near Elizabethton, that the highway was closed, but they didn't mention the Earnhardt family.
Lots of photos of the crash, just after landing (no fire), beginning to burn, and then of folks helping Dale Junior.

It's truly perplexing his dad died from an innocent looking wall collision while he survives a damn plane crash. Wow.

Neither does Jack Roush.

Actually over 2/3 of plane crashes result in zero fatalities

Chances are pretty good when you just go off the end of the runway (unless its takeoff)
Should be slowing down and plane remains right side up

Very glad he and his wife are ok. Now for some pics of Amy.

Do any of them fly themselves?

Chase Elliot flys himself. Carl Edwards used to as well if I remember right.

Belts broke. His body was moving at 200mph.
His chin hit the wheel causing a basal skull fracture and other injuries.
There's a lot more as NASCAR spent $2M on accident reconstruction to figure out what happened and how to make racing safer in the future.
His death, while tragic, brought forth safety changes that make NASCAR racing the safest racing series in the world.

I heard them talking about this on the radio on the way home and the DJ was talking about a story he heard about Dale jr meeting her.
She was an interior designer hired to decorate a house he just bought. Supposedly, Dale told her "decorate it how you would do your own house because I'm gonna marry you one day and it will be cheaper to just do it once."

Where's 777 Tiger. I'm curious to know which Citation model it was. Doesn't look like an X.

News said it was a 10 seater.

Might have been worse if he were an actual athlete
Having his wife and toddler daughter on-board makes it pretty bad.
P.S. If someone strapped you into the driver’s seat of a Cup Series car, you probably wouldn’t know how to make it roll an inch. Nor would you make it through a 400 or 500 mile race if you did get the car rolling.
