that kid absolutely shouldn't have been allowed to testify or give statements without a lawyer present. He had no idea what the frick was going on. Clearly mentally retarded. He might've confessed to some shite, who knows, but that kid can't be considered evidence IMO.
His mother gave permission. He was "interrogated" on a plush coach in a hotel suite and given all the drinks, food, and breaks he wanted.
Him lying does not make him innocent. If you believe Avery is guilty, then so is the kid. He was there with him. If he told the truth and testified, there is no documentary or doubt. Him covering for a murderer and contributing is not some small thing.
I'll never get people advocating for him..

unless the full version shows him pulling an ed norton in Primal Fear, I doubt there's anything I could see from it that would lead me to believe the interrogaters were just doing their jobs correctly and the nephew couldn't resists confessing to his heinous crime.
I’ve come to believe that police shouldn’t even be allowed to talk with suspects of major crimes without a lawyer present. I understand that this will add extra burdens on the police/state/courts; however, with modern forensics, modern DNA capabilities, ubiquitous cell phone usage and tracking, and the prevalence of video cameras covering nearly every inch of the public domain, with all of that the days of police having to trick a suspect into revealing evidence has passed.

HE'S
MENTALLY
RETARDED
Put a kid with down syndrome in that situation, would you feel the same way? Because I know some folks with down syndrome with more mental firepower than Mr. Wrestlemania.

I am more certain one of the "Memphis 3" and Hurricane Carter are killers, than Avery.
And I am pretty sure Avery did it.

Guilty, but not proven in court.
That's always been my take. Same take for Adnan Syed or whatever.
This.

He has a high school diploma and has completed college courses.
Also tons of criminals are mentally deficient. That doesn't give them the freedom to murder people. I don't care if he had Downs Syndrome. If he murdered someone, he should be held responsible..
