this punk got a taste of his own medicine. didn't taste too good getting his head slammed against a window and the fear of God put into him. it was all fun and games tormenting a weaker disabled kid, but cry like a bitch when you get your comuppance.

Were you ever bullied?

Did you have some outward defect that was an easy and unavoidable target for fodder?

You don't have a problem with a grown man beating the crap out of an 11 year old? Are you crazy?

Do you have kids?

Do you understand what you just quoted

Do you understand that if this POS kid had any type of male figure in his life worth a shite they would have done the same to him and it would have been called good parenting?

This guy is just being the male role model this kid needs.

Better ways to go about it than beating up an 11 year old kid.

But he didnt beat the kid up. He pulled the kid to him by the hair. That's beating a kid up? If he knew he was going to jail for it he should have knocked out a few teeth at least. Two things are certain. His kid wont be bullied on that bus anymore and that bully will never bully anyone ever again. Problem solved.

What you don't understand was I trying to figure out if the poster I quoted knew that misdemeanor charge/$100 fine was for a law somewhere else that was rejected and that this father faces significantly harsher penalties but keep on with your rant.

In fact let's talk about good parenting. Besides his actions to the specific 11 year old he also threatened the rest of the bus of children who did nothing to his son.

If all the parents of the innocent kids who were threatened by the dad don't get together and fight him aren't they bad parents?

Unless of course as a dad you would be ok with a 44 year old man threatening to attack YOUR child who had done nothing wrong.

Yup. He restrained the kid then told him off.

That's it.

A grown arse man beating up an 11 year old. Wow, talk to the other parents, drive your kid to school, or get that kid suspended off the bus.

There are so many other ways to deal with this situation.

There is this vague accusation of bullying which can mean almost anything, yet it's cool to just injure and threaten a 11 year old.

Yup, bullying has almost as loose of a defintion as "pummel" apparently.

I didn't write the headline nor have I once said he pummeled the kid. So you trying to throw that in back in my face has no relevance to any argument I've made.

Maybe I'm reading too much in to this, but I think this may say a lot about the 11 year old. He must be an evil little asshold for the bus driver to not GAF to the point of not even reporting a grown man beating his arse. I'm guessing the bus driver has wanted to beat his arse for a while and was glad the man did

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

Adults can punch 14 year old girls in Baton Rouge. As long as they're in the wrong neighborhood gas station.

Were you there? If not, and your information comes from the article like the rest of us, then saying he "just restrained him" is disingenuous. This is what the article says about the encounter:

quote:

The father grabbed the 11-year old by the hair, pulled hard and raised the child out of his seat, then shoved him on the side of the bus where the window meets the wall,” Richmond Police Lt. Mark Gagan told CBS San Francisco.

Police say Hurd, 44, also warned that he would kill the 11-year-old boy and also threatened some other kids on the bus for good measure.

The alleged bully ended up with a cheek abrasion and a gashed earlobe.

This was after the child pointed out the bully to the father which suggests the father didn't even know who the bully was until he stepped on the bus. This suggests that the father relied on hearsay evidence from a 9 year old child (children never lie or overreact do they?) that he had been bullied and then went on a school bus grabbed the alleged bully out of his seat by his hair and shoved him against the wall causing minor injuries.

From the information in the article this not a case of legal self-defense (or legal defense of a helpless person) which is the ONLY time a grown man should ever be justified in getting violent with an 11 year old child who is not his own.

Hopefully, most of you are just trolling with your support for the adult handling the situation in this way.

How many times did his son come to him with the same report of being bullied on the bus?

How is this any different than how your parents treated you when you were in big trouble?

No one here knows. There is no mention of it in the article. Anything anyone here says about it or what the father did (if anything)prior to try to stop it is conjecture. It's also conjecture as to what the bullying constituted.

A lot. My parents never pulled my hair or shoved me against walls. They did spank me a few times when I was younger. What's more relevent to this story is that my friends' parents never touched me. You don't touch other people's children. It isn't your place.

No, he took care of the problem.

I don't see it as bullying. He did what was needed to be done and was protecting his child.

You have a problem with people protecting their children?

The problem is "bullying" is such a bs buzzword today and kids know it.

I teach in an elementary school and everyday some little kid comes up to say someone is "bullying" them because they cut them in line or wouldn't share their hula hoop, or said they weren't their friend etc...

I'm all about protecting children, especially your own, but the dad better have some kind of proof that there was some serious bullying going on other than just the word of his 9 year old autistic son.

Also, as others have pointed out, the system may or may not have solved the problem had he gone that route first but you have to try. Unless you think your child is in some immediate physical danger but if that's the case keep them out of school for a day or two while you figure out what's going on.
