One of my signs got the helmet ice cream last weekend in Frisco. Back at home with us now and he's had the dog wearing it. Good times.
They were cool as a kid. I had a shelf around two of my bedroom walls with trophies and balls and stuff. I had the helmets lined up around it, and would add the new ones to it when I got home.

When my boys were young we’d go down to Florida for Spring Training every year.
We’d take a long weekend, look at the schedule, and plan out who they wanted to watch. Sometimes we could catch an afternoon game, leave that one and make a short drive to catch a night game.
They’d get cards of the teams they wanted to watch, have some baseballs, Sharpies and pens, and chase autographs before and after the games.
It’s been 30 years, they still have autographs they got. Good times.

I took my son right after he turned 5 to a Saturday afternoon LSU baseball game in early May. Got him a Powerade and some Dippin’ Dots. Sat down, he finished both, looked at me and said “I’m ready to leave” after 1 inning. He sat through 2 LSU football games in their entirety…no problem. He’s about to turn 8, and I think the baseball games are still too slow for his attention. I’ll try again when he’s 10.

I used to love going to baseball games with my family. I still love watching sports 50 years later.

Used to take my kids to the Wisconsin Timber Rattler games is a single A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers and they had the best promos for food, drinks and there was a nice playground for the kids.

I loved taking my kids to the Sugar Land Skeeters games back when they were independent ball. Especially the midweek games the crowds would be sparse and there would be plenty of opportunities to interact with the players. And with so few people there all three of them would usually come home with a ball.
Sadly only one of my kids got the baseball bug once they got to their teenage years, but it also makes it our special thing separate from his siblings.

That's how my son feels about basketball - and he has his whole life. He's a junior in high school now and we still try to go to as many basketball games as we can.
The last three NBA seasons we have been trying to go to different arenas. Just last Saturday he and I drove over to Houston just to go to a Rockets game and drove back to Prairieville afterwards. He Enjoyed it as if he was a little kid again. I noticed he was enjoying the moment, enjoying the atmosphere, enjoying the game, and not even paying attention to his phone!
Enjoy the time with your son, make those memories!
Time is a thief! The days are long but the years are short!

Been taking mine to HS bball games mostly, with some football and baseball sprinkled in. A few LSU games in those sports as well.
One of the few things we do together, but it’s been commonplace since he’s
Been about 4/5, he’s 14 now…

Yeah, spend $135 on concessions to convince yourself that dragging your kid to see LSU in Houston for $20 a ticket somehow made them give a shite about anything other than ice cream in a helmet.

If any of y'all are in Pensacola in the summer take them to the Blue Wahoos, got a view of the bay and enter them in the Roach Race.
An exterminator has a sponsorship so every game about the 6th inning all the kids go down to right field and chase a guy in a roach suit all the way to the gate out the left field corner.

Done. Multiple sons, multiple times per year.
You're right they love the game and dad time.
