I have Firestick and a ROKU. I do not like the Firestick at all. If I didn't use them in the same room, I would throw the FS in the trash.

Haven't had a traditional cable package in 4 years. I do get a streaming service (YouTube TV, for example) during football season and I installed an antenna in our attic for locals.

I don't miss it. Netflix, Disney+, Prime have way more content than I'll ever consume. If we want the TV on for background noise we can either stream something or just use PlutoTV.

Just imagine a day without DirectTV where your monthly bill is never the same. Life is wonderful without DirectTV, I got rid of AT&T as well.

I looked at this but couldn't find cheap enough internet that was fast enough to stream reliably to make it worth it. 60-70 bucks for internet plus 50 for youtube tv is more than xfinity package costing me.

Ditching Direct TV for Hulu, Disney +, Netflix, Prime Video has been the best decision ever

I actively promote it to everyone

I won't cut the cord. Internet here isn't the most reliable and we're not offered a 1G connection. Its good in theory and I'm sure works well for this in the direct suburbs or urban setting.

Not so much in the sticks.

It’s been several years, never had a single regret. Don’t miss Directv one bit especially when it rains.

I literally did the same thing 3 days ago. Went for YouTubeTV with a Roku. No regrets so far, for sure.

I’m doing it this week. I told my family this weekend to take the long weekend and get accustomed to no dtv and just streaming. Gonna save 150 a month.

I tried once we started maintaining a 2nd residence.

My condo has shitty internet and the connection buffers frequently. This doesn’t happen with Dish.

My wife also likes to have crap playing in the background. For whatever reason she like to have episodes of shows she likes being more random than we get when we stream them. She hasn’t used these words- but it means she prefers that I pay $150 per month for more channels than she would ever watch than to pay less for watching her favorite shows in sequence.

Edit: I’d make a bolder move if she wasn’t damn near unicorn territory on the crazy/hot matrix.

Switched about 2 years ago…Apple TV with YouTube tv…we have every streaming service known to man and it is still cheaper than DTV.
We have fiber so our tv rarely cycles. My only complaint is we can’t get Bally Sports through you tube tv. Can’t watch the Mavericks, stars or rangers…
Other than that, it’s awesome

Nope. Kept cox highest internet speed wise and got youtube tv.

I shake my head when I hear others bitch about their cable bill amounts.

With directv? Since when has this been a thing? First year was always a given but second year was typically always full price and there was no avoiding it because it was a two year contract.

I now have AT&T tvnow. Same number of channels as the best directv package , no problems with the weather, and $125/mo.
