not sure how I feel about it.
However, I won't go on another cruise with my young adult kids. They disappear and hang out elsewhere. We'll only see them for dinner and excursions. So no kids until they produce some grandchildren.
Overall an upvote for me. But unlike seemingly many others here, I can have a blast doing just about anything. Especially if my hot wife (no pics) is in tow.

Depends on the departing port. NOLA, Texas, Tampa , are completely a toss for me. Trash trash and more trash passengers

I've heard it all depends on the cruise line.

I did a Holland America to Alaska from Seattle about 15 years ago and it was not trashy. I was just in Seattle this week and most cruisers on my flights still seemed OK.
LMAO if you take a Carnival out of Galveston.

Anybody do the Barefoot cruise? That sounds like fun, maybe.

We did a cruise like this. Saw the whole boat before we left the dock. Stopped in Cancun, told my wife…”see the Carnival beside us? We are life boat number 2. “
Never again……
Never again……

i've been on one cruise in my life, and it was cool, for what it is... I'd probably go again, but there are so many other trips that we've wanted to and are taking, and well, we only have so much off time, so cruises take a back seat for now...

I know it’s not popular here but I’ve been on probably 10 Carnival cruises. I went mostly have gone with my wife typically with other people. We have enjoyed the hell out of them. She is a Homeschooling mom of 4. It was just great to go on a vacation where we could both relax and have everything taken care of for us. We did an Alaska post Covid and it was a whole other level. Probably the most enjoyable thing we have ever done. We took the kids a couple of years ago and they loved it as well. We do a ski trip every other year which is expensive and a lot of work. Cruises the years between have served us very well. I’ve enjoyed every cruise I’ve ever went on. We have our first one in a few years booked for December.

Cruises are for people that think going to Mexico is exotic.
Except for the thousands of cruises that, you know, don't go to Mexico.

Over time, you'll realize that cruises aren’t that enjoyable. I’d rather spend a couple of weeks at the beach. Cruises feel more like Disneyworld-style entertainment.

The wife and I went on a Carnival Cruise out of NOLA several years ago. We liked it OK, but we both agreed we had no urge to go again.
We did want to try an Alaskan Cruise at some point, though. This year we went on Norwegian for our Alaska Cruise, and now we are thinking we'd like to try another on their line. There was a world of difference in the onboard experience.

The boat isn't the attraction. Getting in places where large ships cant is the attraction. Less port stops, more activities.

I’d rather be driving the lifeboat than being on the trash.

Sure go for it, especially if you are a fatty with a lot of tattoos. Be sure to bring a popping fan to use during dance parties. And a pro tip is to put a pineapple sticker on your door (you will thank me later).

The above are YES

These are a MAYBE ( depending on itinerary and departure port)
Carnival
This one is a never. Nope. No-Go. Scuttle these vessels.

I have been on a bunch of them and have always enjoyed them.
We are now hooked on Viking European river cruises. Just got back from our second one.

Absolutely never. I do not boat.
Which if you knew the details of my life, would be funny to you. But nope. Never.

Viking isn't bad. Smaller ships, mostly older crowd.
No ankle biters or teens. Just adults.
