i am going on a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Orlando in 2 weeks.RC has issued a statement claiming that anyone who has anything to do with china in within the last 15 days is not allowed on the ship (summing that up). My wife has some concern about traveling right now. Should we postpone the trip? RC also claimed they would be scanning people at the port, just like airports are now doing. Not really sure if we should just go or what???

Unless they are offering you the ability to reschedule at no cost (which I highly doubt), you absolutely go on the trip

At this point, postponing anything because of the coronavirus short of travelling to China itself is giving in to media fear mongering.

This is pretty standard when a virus is going around. If you haven't been sick, you will be fine, and they will be screening people anyway.

I don't have one book in the next few weeks, but I wouldn't hesitate.

Now Carnival, that I would cancel.

Only Carnival cruises are trashy. Cheap cruise = trashy people.

Remember that.

some folks live their lives in fear.

Go on the cruise. Have fun. Get drunk. Enjoy yourself.

First of all that cruise is not going anywhere near China. Get on the damn boat. Even if by some miracle you do catch it. You're not gonna die

Seems pretty simple, have you been to China in the last 15 days? If not, enjoy your trip. It sounds like RC is doing their due diligence on keeping sick people off the ship

You should be more worried about what your bar tab will look like after a week on one of those boats

I booked a 7 day royal carribean cruise this year that was $1000 cheaper than the 6 day Carnival cruise I took last year that was out of Fort Lauderdale

Go and have fun.
As others have stated so long as you aren't going near China shouldn't be an issue.

I have never been on one but my wife won a free cruise a month ago so I guess we are going. We haven't picked the date or destination yet from the options they gave us but it all looks like places I have already been to which is disappointing. I am thinking it will be miserable but it's free so...

I see 50 cruise ships a month dock just outside my office. Makes you never want to ever get on one of those boats. No such thing as a high end crowd.

Regardless of the Coronavirus, trapping myself on a boat with that many people in the midst of any cold and flu season sounds like a nightmare and not a vacation.

Probably nothing to worry about unless she's pregnant
