So a key part of crossfit is doing compound movements for time which you say is dangerous right Lester? But you don't think this results in more injuries than traditional resistance training?

I see Cross Fit gyms closing down all over the place.

find some unbiased studies, most will tell you that it isnt any more dangerous than general fitness workouts.

I was strength and size training so my workouts were 4-5 lifts with about 85% max weight.
2-3 min rests between sets.
So each lift was about 15 min including warmup/weight acclimation sets.
You will never get stronger doing crossfit than you would have doing what you were doing before but saying crossfit is better because it only takes an hour is like saying playing basketball for an hour is better than powerlifting.

I'm sure not all crossfits are bad but I have known about 20 people who have gotten into it and they get hot and heavy about it for a while and then 15 or so of the 20 I have known have had surgeries related to crossfit...about 5 of them still do it but they do it at home.

Chubby admin girl at work used to tell me how great crossfit was at helping her lose weight. I think she quit going around the time she had her ACL surgery. Funny thing is everyone else I know who has torn an ACL was doing something cool like playing Div. 1/NFL football or downhill skiing.

Are there really people ITT white knighting for crossfit?

Actually, I am getting stronger from Crossfit, thank you for assuming.
We incorporate bench press, deadlifts, front and back squats into our programming weekly.

So you don't think doing as many deadlifts as you can in a minute in a competitive atmosphere is dangerous?
