posts here still baffle me why folks that dont believe the Bible have such a disrespect and utter contempt for those that do.
I suspect it stems from Christians using the gubmint to impose their religious beliefs on people that do not share them. Then when they can't have their way, they cry "War on Christianity".
I'm still mad about that FBC pizza party at Baker high that turned into a come to Jesus meeting.

because the bible makes it very clear that is not true.

quote:Yes you can. Try viewing it like the Matrix. We are just living in a computer program created by god. He wrote the entire program from scratch. He wrote all of the scientific laws, evolution, the whole 9. He just left us to figure it out and put in some clues along the way to help us.
you cant believe in the bible and also believe we started out as tadpoles or whatever evolutionists believe.
if you just think that things evolve and adapt to their surroundings over time (with the help of God), that could be a form of evolution that most Christians would accept

So are we talking about your interpretation of the Bible, or have you looked into every single translation of the Bible from ancient Greek/Hebrew and discovered a passage that clearly reads 'evolution is false'?

This is Theistic Evolution, ie the official teaching of the Catholic Church. It acknowledges the Theory of Evolution as fact, but says we were imparted with a soul the second man became "man".

are you catholic or protestant?

Ok, let's say God told us the truth about evolution, that we evolved from lower creatures into what we are today. How long do you think that would catch on?
The Bible was written before anyone understood science whatsoever. During Moses time they thought the world was flat. Refusing to believe in evolution due to the Bible is no different in my mind than denying a spherical Earth or Heliocentric model to the solar system.

well, the bible says he created man in his image, he says nothing about tadpoles or what not.
so...
that is not what I am talking about. Catholics dont take the bible literally, mostly. (some do and dont agree with their church on evolution.)
that is all fine and dandy, but dont get it twisted.

it gives the entire story of how he created man, it says nothing about evolving from all kind of different animals.

You're taking that a little too literally. Even hardcore Christians would say that. God isn't some old guy with sandals waiting up in heaven. I would be extremely underwhelmed if it were.

Has anyone trotted out the "If evolution is real, why are monkeys still around?" argument yet?

Now I can't tell if you're trolling or you actually believe the Earth is flat.

four corners of the earth, earth is a face, also talks about a dome being around the Earth.
look up Operation Fishbowl. the government knows the Earth is flat. NASA takes billions to hide the truth.
