Damn you are a dumbass.

There is a key in the fob."

The OP said there was a key in the fob in his first post. Try reading what's posted prior to calling someone ELSE a dumbass.

How about this one…a car with the auto-shut off dies at an intersection because the battery decides to give up the ghost between you starting the car and the auto stop.

Can you please tell us what the issue was when you find out?

Unless of course you say F-it since you got a new battery now. Then tell us that.

I know it’s not the same vehicle as the OP. Had to try it out on 2022 F150.

Little FOB key feels purely mechanical when unlocking. There was gunk in keyhole that needed cleaning.

Unhooked battery, same result. Little key worked.

Tested little key in case I need in future. Gotta keep your keyhole clean.

No way, for safety reasons, would they allow a car door not to be opened

Buick Enclave: (Worst vehicle I've ever driven)

The vehicle auto locks on its own when you exit the vehicle. I started the car and ran inside to grab something but when I returned the vehicle was locked.

It locked me out of the running vehicle while the key fob was inside. Called the service department after the fact and the guy confirmed that its a "safety feature". I was convinced there was an issue but apparently it is indeed the only vehicle I've ever seen capable of locking you out with a key fob. Which completely defeats the purpose of a key fob...

So if you leave the car running with a kid or pet and exit the vehicle they will be locked inside and you can't get in.

The vehicle is designed to give you the least possible cabin space of any SUV. I've been in sedans with more space. You are also guaranteed to smash your knee if you get in a bad accident. Its designed perfectly to just crush right down on your leg. The windshield is also angled to maximize sun reflection, which is just an awesome feature.

Someone woke up one day and said "how can we make the worst suv possible" and created the Enclave.

Holy shits that is overly fricking complicated.

Most vehicles have an honest-to-God key in the fob.

I had a similar problem with my 2014 F-150. Was on vacation in Broken Bow, OK at a cabin in the middle of nowhere. I had a hidden key in one of those magnetic key boxes behind my front bumper, but the sonofabitch was gone. Must have fallen out somewhere.

I eventually was able to open my hood with a screwdriver like a previous poster said and hook up a small battery jump box that my BIL had and open the door.

That reminds me, I need to get another metal key and secure it somewhere on the frame, and get one of those little jump boxes.

No, the fricking thing fell off and I had no idea.

I was probably driving around for months without realizing it.

We had an early 90s beater BMW when we lived in Germany and the battery died in it and the radio never worked again. I replaced the radio and it would still not work....car had to be reprogrammed to make the radio work and it was about $500 and we paid $1500 for the car. I finally used an inline fuse and ran it off directly off the battery but even the speakers were broken through a contactor that would not function due to the programming so I had to replace them also. Engineers ought to be horse whipped.....

Springhill, in Mobile. That’s an area that’s openly mocked for being affluent etc. Multiple million dollars homes are everywhere

Spring Hill median family income is $110k online. That isn't close to enough for multiple million dollar homes. I imagine what you think is a $3 mil home is $700k.

"The median household income in Springhill, a neighborhood in Mobile, Alabama, is $110,597, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The average salary in Mobile, where Springhill is located, is $48,319 annually."
