I'm not sure they'd make it to Houma to be honest.

Maybe not but if this was any kind of surprise, theyd use the intercoastal at night, hwy 56 and 57. Take over by force vehicles needed and race to a rally point such as an airport or hospital.

They would of course need smaller forces already in place to disrupt and distract the locals as they approached.

Overtake somewhere with generators and fuel. This whole scenario is only contingent on them being able to attack under some element of surprise..

What would make it much more difficult would be if they somehow were allowed to land in another state (say Texas) and come in that way. It would be much tougher to defend a terrestrial invasion than a naval one.

They better bone up on their Spanish if that's the plan.. That's the only way they're getting into Texas

I'd rent a just to watch ISIS get skullfricked by the LSU cheerleaders. Miles' postwar presser would be glorious

Logistically speaking, invading and retaining control of south Louisiana would be more challenging than it looks given the typography. It would take a lot of air power I think.

99% of them would do so when an Arab is screaming jihad a running at them with a machete.

At least 25% would tuck tail and run.

would still out number them by a huge number. I think we would stomp a mud hole in 15,000 arab invaders.

we have the home field, we know the land, and enough of a numbers advantage even with half of the gun owners just moving.

This. Plus, look at it from a tactical standpoint: Where would ISIS land their army? Wherever they would be, they will have cross lots and lots of bridges to get to their objectives. They don't have the money/technology to build bridges wherever they go. In Louisiana, they wouldn't have the equipment to go "off-road" through the swamps and marshes like they can in Iraq and Syria through the desert. All you have to do is blow whatever bridge is in their way and you have them trapped. Then, you use gourilla divisions of hunters and trappers with high-powered scoped rifles to pick them off from a distance and harass them with police and clandestine patrol boat raids. All of that food sure will be great when they're stuck on a marshy island swarmed with mosquitos while their food rots in 4 inches of rain while they get picked off one by one.

This times a million. Air boat and travel superiority, plus 50-100K coonasses with scopes and camo hiding in the brush of the swamps? It would like Vietnam all over again...but on the right side.

they would have a hard time with almost any southern state. The populations are big and filled with gun owners. Also regular people can do some pretty extraordinary things when they are pushed. Even with no real military help, you still have retired military in the states that could provide tactics and leadership

The problem with this scenario is that LA would not be left to fight alone under any circumstances.

Just think how many folks tried to come help from other states (normal citizens) after Katrina.

Rednecks from all over the south would be piled up in pick up trucks heading your direction.

No military? Ok. How about Pow-Pow's old crop duster with stinger missiles strapped to it?

I have not read any responses but the premise this thread is completely ridiculous.

That said, under those conditions I would load up my family, my firearms and get the hell out.

They would get here and wonder who had already detonated IEDs on our roads.

Harvest as many as we want, again, no outside help and national guard and air force not here to help. They could attack us from anywhere. When I said crazy hypothetical, I meant retarded
