Considering they would have RPG's and machine guns platforms, it would be harder than most would think with absolutely no help from any type of military equipment. We would hold them back and ultimately win but it wouldn't be the arse kicking most are saying.

Japanese had a plan to invade the USA until they realized they couldn't defeat swamps,Appalachian range and 10-15m rednecks with 30-45m weapons inside the intercoastal. Snakes and gators notwistanding.

I don't think a bunch of camel jockeys pose any threat the threat are those that pave the way already here. UN / Soviet et al cells...

This is a pretty good point actually. Sadly, I think ISIS would have no problem recruiting another 10k thugs with the promise of rape and opium.

You have no idea. Communists/Muslims have been killing our democracy at the margin using blacks as bait since they were let go circa Reconstruction Act... Then new deal, great society, affirmative action, et al give-a-ways add up to moochelle and barry.

Giving non landowners the franchise was the first mistake. It gave our enemies the most powerful weapon on earth to destroy us: the ballot box.

No, that's actually bullshite. Iraq is heavily armed at the civilian level, probably as much, if not moreso, than the United States. Every single house has at least an AK-47 - it was the first thing you did when you raided a house there..."where is the AK...give it to me".

Me thinks there is a little too much Red Dawning going on in this thread. If, as the OP stipulated, they have two years of supplies, facing down a two division-sized organized military force with up-armored Humvees and APC's, a virtually unlimited supply of DshK machine guns, mortars, artillery, body armor, night vision, and on and on would be a bear without outside military assistance. This is all assuming that they manage to get on land and don't run into a navy in the first place.

They also wouldn't bother trying to occupy the swamps and woods. They'd seize key points of interest (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, and major roads and thoroughfares) and wouldn't bother with the rest.

These aren't stupid people, and they've been fighting a brutal war against a heavily armed Syrian army for three years to a stalemate. The Chechan contingent in particular would be a bear and a half to take.

Eventually, GeauxxTiger's plan is the way it would be - IED the shite out of them to disrupt logistics trains. Kidnap and torture any lackadaisical ISIS. Pick your battles where you can. It would be a long (years) and pretty brutal fight, but the Louisiana civilians would eventually win.

Thread went better than expected, great answers. I don't think we would easily squash them, but I believe over months of guerrilla warfare we would take toll on their forces. I believe with 15000 troops and us only having one day to prepare at first we would be focusing on protecting our own cities, but cities would fall. After a few weeks we would change tactics to guerrilla warfare and start attacking at night a lot. We would hold out and win but not as easy as many think. This is what happens when I wake up at 4:30 am, drinking coffee, thinking bout dumb shite. So I brought my thoughts to the OT.

I do think the country boy/coon arse, holds more weight than some believe. Coon asses and country boys would inflict some pretty heavy damage, especially at night, on them. The one hypothetical I meant to add and to late to now was, every month 1000 more ISIS would be coming in to assist them, but I was in a hurry and forgot.

With rifles poking out of practically every window of most neighborhoods all they could do was hold an airport or a port. They wouldn't be patrolling shite.

Louisiana stacked, Isis fricked

Can't tell if serious.

You know I fought against this very group, right?

They ain't some ratty Arabs spraying-and-praying everywhere at this point. An organized army that has been fighting and fighting for years will overwhelm any good ol' boys in the initial wave. That's just how it goes. A bunch of dudes with hunting rifles and single shot AR-15's are going to struggle for a long time. They also aren't stupid enough that they would go into the swamps and try to fight it out there. There's nothing there for them.

The Louisianans eventually would win because they would have the single most important factor on their - the drive to win. However, it would be long and bloody as hell. Anyone who thinks anything else is kidding themselves.

Yeah, if ISIS was willing to committ genocide, and I see no reason why they wouldn't be, then we would have a difficult time.

It would take time for truly effective resistance, with leadership to form. And if a decently trained fighting force of 15000 went in without the modern, western, moral code things would be horrific.

A lot of people, maybe most people, would be willing to risk their lives. But not if it meant risking the lives of their children.

Not saying we couldn't hold out long enough to win, but those saying it would be over in weeks are pretty clueless,

Command or grunt?

Neck down fighters only know what they did, not how it relates to strategy and tactics in any sense. You don't really think al Qaeda would stand a chance on the ground between Montgomery and red stick do you?

I also know that in this crazy hypothetical, ISIS wouldn't just magically appear right in the middle of LA.

We would see them coming and prepare.
