No-knock warrant is in this guy's future.

He had a reason. A suspicious character was refusing to let him see his other hand so he could make sure he was unarmed. I don't think people realize how much more cops are shot at than regular citizens.

Another simple rule, if someone starts waving their gun around for no reason, take away their gun privileges.

Brandishing will get your CCP pulled quick.

That's why I always cover my license plate.

The only thing good about this officer is his mustache. Y'all know that is a bad arse cop stache.

Otherwise this whole thing is really weird. I wonder what the past history is between this guy and this department.

It boggles my mind people with "nothing to hide" don't just do as their told and go about their day rather than risk getting themselves into some serious ish trying to prove their point.

This is a pretty un-American sentiment, IMO.

No its not, not when the guy is in his own driveway hooking his boat to his truck. The cop said he wasn't accusing him of dong anything wrong. They can't just stop and tell people to take their hands out of their pockets while holding on gun on them. Cop is a fricking idiot in this case.

They are the law. You can't argue that. Want to go against them? Fine, dont be surprised if you get a few bullet holes in the process.

People that argue against this are the same people you read about in the news that tried to fight off burglers/thugs. Usually it doesn't work out so well for them. Just do what they say and you get to see the next day.

Why didn't the cop holster his gun after he saw that the man was unarmed? It seemed weird to me that he was walking around with his weapon drawn.

Only reason I can think of is because the guy started acting erratic, yelling and backing away from him.

Cops can't just walk around demanding to see if someone has a weapon on his own property? What if he did? What if he had a weapon that he was legally allowed to carry?

That psychotic cop definitely would have shot him.

Yeah, but the resident was approaching the cop car w/ (evidently) hand in pocket.

Then, the cop gets out, asks to see his other hand, then pulls his gun.

No doubt the cop instigated the whole encounter and was a complete a-hole.

I guess you're willing to give up basic rights. I'm not.

Yes you are. Real life isn't the Internet and you're not as tough as you think. If a cop pulls a gun on you, whether it's justified or not, and asks to see your hand you're going to show it to him.

Like someone else said, the fact that it's a cop really isn't going to be relevant to me at that point.

If a cop ask me to show my hands then I will gladly comply.

I don't need to sit here and argue my "rights" and all this other stuff. He wants to see I don't have anything to cause harm to him, that is fine. Why be offended over this.. comply and you probably prevent a bigger situation from escalating..

People say he was on his property.. but he looked like he approached the cop car on his own.. in the middle of the street..

Then the cop gets out and ask him to take his hand out.. Think about how dangerous cops have it.. So he gets out and wants to make sure it's safe. He even got out his vehicle calmly. Asked him to simply show his hand, and he makes it into a bigger situation than it ever had to be.

It's ridiculous.

I understand wanting to defend your rights, and you should not have to just bow down to cops because they have authority.. However, this was a basic and understanding command given the situation. He wasn't asking much of the man.. He just wanted to make sure it was a safe situation..

This guy filming was offended and looking for confrontation, because of whatever other events was going on.. But who knows.. maybe his "family" wasn't as innocent as he believes either.. who knows.. maybe there were crooked cops treating his family wrong.. but none of this had to be.. It's just not worth it.
