Anybody know if nurses at OLOL are getting extra pay due to covid? I've heard that Oschner is. TIA

I don't think they are.

I know OLOL is sending nurses home for low census numbers and at the same time saying they don't have the staff to cover covid patients.

How good are they at dancing? The amount of COVID pay is directly related to their dancing ability.

You mean the typical "know-it-all" bitches that think they are medical experts because they were trained to take blood pressure and insert IV needles?

Future advice: it’s best to just not mention nurses around here because all the tough men get their panties in a bunch.

Most hospitals are experiencing this here. Plenty of nurses dont work on the floor, and when the bulk of the census is floor patients those nurses dont work.

They got hazard pay with first wave in april. Not since then.

ICU nurses now want to take care of covid patients because once they are on vent they are pretty easy. Easier than a post op heart or neuro trainwreck for sure.

Man, if there is ever a news headline: "Nursing School Teacher arrested for having sex with a travel ball player"

This website will literally explode.

My GP told me yesterday at my appt. that he is hearing that when nurses stop getting the extra pay they start leaving. Anecdotal I know, just what I heard.

Are "covid" nurses working with them not basically getting all the hours and more they could want? Overtime pay? If they are healthy and under 60 I'm not sure why they need OT pay, this virus is likely not dangerous to them.

There's definitely some places that are paying well to get Covid nurses, so this shouldn't be a surprise right?

Someone told me they're making ~$50/hr, but contract nurses who come in from elsewhere are making ~$75/hr.

No idea how true or untrue this is, but its a friend currently working there who told me.
