Covid has shown me just how many scared 20 year olds we have living in this country. We are doomed.

If everything is cyclical, then what happens in 10-15 years from now? Do people flock back to these states or is this more of a permanent thing and not just a trend?

I think a lot of it will depend on telecommuting

It will be interesting to see what happens to the housing markets in those traditionally more expensive areas if the populations don't return and interest rates rise

We’ll see. You make a good point about telecommuting. Let’s see if work from home becomes a permanent and stable option.

Interest rates could rise but I don’t see it until maybe 2023 at the earliest.

I'm talking about high cost of living areas

Even with a huge downturn in housing the poors won't be able to relocate to these areas

Today seems to be “I can’t recognize sarcasm” day on the OT.

It won’t. Not to the extent you are hoping for tho.

There are plenty of soy boys in NOLA

There are plenty in Nola indeed, but the OT’s fascination of lumping up the gun owning Republican voting ones with them is over the top. Most of my neighbors are the latter and most threads everyone keeps saying “well, you get what you vote for” and it couldn’t be further from the truth.

People will flock back to NYC, SF, etc. Those places are fun.

Then move? Or get involved in local elections?

Because you and your neighbors are not the majority of NOLA voters.

There should have been angry mobs in the streets over the way this was handled.

You almost went to the mat w a guy over what again?

I was with this lady friend of mine at a bar uptown. We were about to go home and I was just waiting for her to get out of the restroom.

I'm standing by myself waiting on her with no one within at least 30 feet of me. Some stupid soy boy walks all the way across the bar and says "mask up buddy"

I just told him to go frick himself

I wasn't actually planning on checking knuckles with him
