Isolation makes it less likely that you’d get the virus. Isolation makes it less likely that hospitals get overwhelmed. If hospitals aren’t overwhelmed all patients are better served.

I don't know why people keep saying this?
the "roadmap" that the government laid out to loosening restrictions literally says they want to see 2 weeks of declining cases
more people stay at home = less spread = 2 weeks of decline = loosening restrictions

Because they control the processes right now. The doctors on the task force are the ones writing scripture when it comes to combating COVID-19.

So... we were agreeing? 
I’ve seen a ton of posts here and elsewhere for weeks (they are much less frequent now) claiming that this will be over sooner if we just stay home. It actually would have been over a lot sooner had we isolated less. The approach we are using, by design, spreads this out and allows for more peaks down the road but the idea is they would be lower.

Right. Because it will be. That is the reality.
We are currently seeing declining numbers right now.

Correct.
Once it was clear what the goal was, it should have been clear to anyone that less spread would result in less cases, which would result in this ending sooner.
I'm not sure what the confusion is here.

Weren’t you one of the ones saying that cases doesn’t equal infected, and the US actually had millions infected by February?

If you assume that 2 million Americans are going to die “unless we use quarantine measures”, then you can always justify the quarantine measures if you don’t hit 2 million deaths. It’s foolish bc it ignores the possibility that the virus wasn’t going to kill 2 million Americans even without quarantine measures.
