Having to enter things like your license information and other identifying information into a database that could be used by the government (the key here) to track your adult content consumption is where it infringes.
That would infringe but the site isn't required to do that under the law. They just have to take reasonable measures.
So you could sign up for an account, run your ID once, and get a computer-generated confirmation code. That code can be stored on an offline computer and an employee can send you the code. That way, you're verified but it isn't tied to your real name. That's relatively simple for a tech company.
The truly concerning part of the ruling is saying product safety warnings infringe on free speech. That opens a major Pandora's box. Imagine if Big Pharma runs with that precedent.

I agree. I'm interested to see where this goes. I don't see how age verification and product warnings, within reason, can be 1A infringements.

person should not be forced to put their fricking ID into a site just b/c a bunch of dumb arse parents don't know how to monitor their kid's internet activity.
Should you have to show an ID to buy a dirty magazine at the store?

The Louisiana law needs adjusted. Too restricted.
The Texas law gave the sites more freedom for how they verfiy, and should be upheld on appeal.

Or maybe folks should just mind their own business and stop utilizing their own moral standards as the standard for everyone else.
This is kinda how we have 10 year olds on puberty blockers and getting ready to cut their dicks off.
Suffices to say, it ain't black and white.

Are you ashamed of your porn?
No. But I also think it's ridiculous to make people get put into a database (which is where this will go) for looking at porn.
Some of y'all sound like the people who said "Hey what the problem, they're just looking for terrorists" when the Patriot Act was passed.

It’s really hard to define, but you know it when you see it.

So just to be clear, you’re pro-government oversight and control.

Yes.
I’m fairly libertarian on porn.
I think it’s wrong and would like it to be gone forever. I don’t want to outlaw it but let’s not pretend like society is better off with it.
I won’t pretend like I haven’t looked at it but I can guarantee that putting in my ID would stop me from getting to it just like an ID at Hastings or Barnes and Noble stopped me after I turned 18

Back in my day we had to work for our porn. Whether is was stealing it, catching a scrambled nipple on Spice, or getting cool with the Arab gas station to sell a magazine. It built character
