The channel out of John's Pass isn't due west - it is more South/Southwest direction with a shoal area to the north - I've bumped bottom trying to skirt the channel heading north with a 3' draft.

I imagine they were too close to shore and tried entering behind the entrance markers - but even they state their speed was 2kts - can't see too much damage happening that slow unless the keel was already in bad shape to begin with

Update:
1) They raised $16,000 and a 77 y/o retired physician sold them his 36' Odyssey for $1.

2) I'm confident they'll still frick up and, hopefully, die before they reproduce.

3) No word on Remy the Pug's current SITREP.
