Toby Keith has real talent, both vocally and from a songwriting standpoint.

I personally think his point went right over the heads of the country music industry. Red Solo Cup was the ultimate parody of the music industry as a whole and the level of elementary writing it takes to have a hit. Guy laughed all the way to the bank while the "industry" couldn't grasp he was also laughing directly at them.

Yep.

This should be the campaign song of the next populist presidential candidate.

Which means Trump.

That's not country music, though. That's mountain music.

People who love country music don’t even know what it is anymore. It’s 20 years into a catastrophic identity crisis.

Hell Taylor Swift was country music for a while.

I personally would like to thank people like you for giving me the motivation to add some new songs to my playlist. It is very easy to get lazy and just keep doing the same things over and over. But thanks to your outrage, I have learned three new songs in the last two weeks. After working on it last night and then sleeping on it I feel like, while still a little rough, I am ready to play it in front of an audience.

Rich Men North of Richmond

This latest one will compliment “Beer for My Horses” and “Try That In a Small Town” well. So thank you. It is also making me work on an original about soy cuck boys that live in their parent’s basement and talk trash on the internet all day. It is just an idea, but I think I will title it “Shexter”.

By the way, the only thing I could come up with to rhyme with cuck boy was “frick” toy. You might be offended. But don’t despair, I don’t think I should post it on here.

I like the message and the song.

Not my kind of music. But I like that song.

Is it okay to agree with the message completely, think the guy is obviously very talented, but just...not like the song that much?

Yes. Everyone has their own musical taste.

By politicians worried about minors on an island is he referring to Trump, who was close friends with Jeff Epstein?

If you had done just the most remedial research, you would know this guy hates ALL politicians. Hell, he has a song that explicitly blasts both Democrats and Republicans by name. I can’t say he is wrong.

I don’t understand why the progressives are up in arms over this song. I thought they were supposed to hate the rich? Is it because it paints your God in Washington in an unfavorable light? And that the message has resonated with so many people?

Not my jam, but I don’t mind the lyrics, outside of this one:
quote:

Lord, we got folks in the street, ain't got nothing to eat / And the obese milking welfare

The people on the street with nothing to eat have chosen to reject welfare; getting rid of welfare would mean more people on the street with nothing to eat. Acknowledging either is fine, but you can’t really argue out of both sides of your mouth on it.

I also wonder how many people singing along to:
quote:

I've been sellin' my soul, workin' all day Overtime hours for bullshite pay So I can sit out here and waste my life away Drag back home and drown my troubles away

Yet argue here on the OT about how lazy and entitled workers are these days.

Why do they tell you not to feed the animals in national parks?

That’s an argument against welfare in general. It’s utterly unresponsive to my point that the people on the street he’s describing have access to food that they choose not to eat.

Pretty much. The services are readily available and they are refusing it.
