If your friends never heard of tyler Childers that's pretty sad haha. It's not like he is underground.

George Jones is great. Still watch his live sessions on YouTube. Tyler Childers is different but also great

are you the “i only listen to bands you’ve never heard of” friend in your friend group.

No actually a lot of people have heard of the bands I listen to. Just highly doubt any of the boomers on this board know of them because they are not on CMT XM country top 20 radio.

This would be the equivalent of your favorite artist releasing a video where a white male was happily married and successful. You and other fans would revolt as well

There absolutely are gay country music fans, Roger.
And there are white conservative rap fans. I don’t see many music videos catering to them, and I wouldn’t advise a rapper to do it either.

If you want country music catered to you just go listen to toby keith

Maybe I should just write my own songs. Like that one guy did in this very thread. Who was that? It was a few pages back.

BTW, Toby Keith has some good material too.

But thank you for your pretentious preaching about country music. Now I completely get it. Now that might make a good subject for a song…

This much I can agree with.

I'm not pretentious at all. I listen to everything. I know I'm a hack for listening to Morgan Wallen and Jason Aldean. You gotta mix it up tho.

No, not pretentious at all. Nope. This whole thread is a complete train wreck.

because his cousin is gay. Childers told NPR he wanted a music video on CMT that his cousin could relate to

I guess Lil Nas X quit being country. Industry Baby’s music video might be a little too dark for his cousin anyway.

… I saw Bevis and Butthead on new seasons row on Paramount+ a couple months ago, and having not watched it in awhile started to watch 1st episode of new season- “Meditation Sucks”.

WTF was happening in that music video. I thought that video was fake or a parody for the new seasons of show being on paramount+ and not MTV, but it appears it was real (at least going by episode’s description on Wikipedia).
