I think if my company decided to wax my arse tomorrow I could find a job paying more money pretty easily in 0-2 months, but hours/benefits would be worse.

More money. Maybe.

Better. No way.

Ain't going to lie. I work two, sometimes three, shite arse part time 'gigs' that pay the bills.... would be hard to get a worse job, but doubt I find anything as flexible and fits my lifestyle (sans money), but that's about it

yes

i took less cash for more weeks off. I could take 4 week vacation and more cash, or keep the job i have, getting 17 weeks off, paid.

Wife continues to get promoted, so she making that bank, i take the extra weeks off.

Fired? No. Laid off? No. In my opinion there are no better jobs for me than the one I'm currently in.

However, if I did think there were better jobs and found out about and could get it tomorrow, why the frick would I wait for the company I'm currently with to decide they're done with me before I would go after and get the better job? That would be stupid because the better job might not be available anymore the day after tomorrow because someone who didn't wait jumped on it. You always take the better job and don't wait to get let go. Eventually, you'll reach a job where you're happy and basically don't consider anything offered you to be a better job than the one you have. That's when you end up staying with a company long-term.

We call this "career building".

A better paying job for sure but I'm not sure it would be a better job.

i was a salesman, but decided to take the less cash and go back on a route(delivering stuff to eateries and stores).

there are 3 of us, for 2 routes, so some one is always off w/pay. Ur technically on call, but no one misses. And we only work 30ish hours a week for 40 hour salary.

I can offer one explanation-

35 year old guy, could prob do better, but with family settled in, doesnt want to shake things up-

If that guy got canned tomorrow, all comfort is gone

Healthcare in Houston. Nurse (male so no pics). Better job debatable. Exact same job and pay? No question. I'd probably go so far to say I'd miss one paycheck at most.

I'm assuming you work with a lot of women. There are ALWAYS pics. No exceptions. Now, pics or GTFO.

If you could then it's kind of foolish to be staying at your current job. You should be transitioning to the "better job" right now.
