LOL. No. Could touch the rim in my "hey day" years ago. I can't even touch the bottom of the backboard now. Hurts my spine just trying.

I’m 5’8

So no

I could get my hand in the long part of the net though when I was in my 20s doing a lot of plyo stuff.

Not 10'. Obviously I could with the goal lowered which is how I ended up ripping an earlobe with a curved barbell earring. It was the right one but I quit wearing the left one after that.

Could get rim if I had a running start. I cannot even dunk an 8’ now.

Bad knee so had to dunk jumping off two feet. White man's disease but I have monkey arms at 6'3. With stickem, I could do a 360 dunk taking a couple of steps . Only dunked in a live game once and it was in a fraternity game after a steal. Had to stop in front off rim and jump off two feet.

After seeing the thread earlier I decided to grab the rim on our goal before leaving to go to work. I was able to grab it, barely, but I was in boots. However I threw my back out and and pulled some sort of muscle in my wrist in the process. Getting old sucks..

Junior year at 5' 9" I could occasional touch the rim on a running jump

That kind of sums me up. Missed the rim more than not, but could occasionally hit it. My house has 10 1/2 ft high ceilings and when I'm on the sofa looking across the room at them, it seems unbelievable that basketball players can easily surpass that height when dunking.

I could dunk as a sophomore/junior in high school. By senior year, I had bulked up for football and could only get rim.

I knew a guy in HS who was 6'11" and couldn't dunk.

Yes but I couldn’t palm the ball very well. My athletic highlight was a 2 handed dunk off a missed layup in HS. I lucked out knowing the guy attempting the layup was a lefty trying a right handed shot that he would miss and I went for it.

ETA there’s no way I could have made that dunk handling the ball. It was the perfect setup off a steal by another player.

I managed a few clean ones in practice. Most were not clean.

In warmups before one game I got hung up on the rim during layups and someone in the stands yelled “Ahaaaa white boys can’t jump!” It was Cecil Collins. True story.
