I live in Louisiana, so fricking no.

A decent portion of that flies in the face of everything we know of nutritional science. It's not necessarily bad, but there is no scientifically sourced reason to believe Himalayan salt is better for you than fricking Morton's. I also haven't seen any studies showing tomatoes and bell peppers are bad for you.
I find it hard to believe that this diet has any special relevance to why he is so good (or that he has remained so good for so long). If you looked at other elite athletes, like let's take Kobe (who played to a significant age for Basketball), they aren't eating that same diet.
So if the question is "Would I do that diet for Tom's life?" Then sure. On the other hand, if the question is "Would you do this diet for yourself?" Then the answer is that I don't see a point.

Looking at his ol lady, I'd rather have a burger.
I'm not saying she's ugly. I'm just saying I really like hamburgers and I've eaten 6 steaks in the last 3 days. She isn't worth steak.

Bobby Flay and other great chefs are believers in using salt...so they would be out

Right? So my choices are a quinoa dish with wilted greens, with garlic toasted in coconut oil or make my own food... pass me the bowl and a fork, my man.

He's well in the 1% of people in terms of athletic ability. Even the least athletic person in the NFL is incredibly athletic. Running a 4.8 40 is slow for an NFL player. It is very fast for the general population. Factor in the hand eye coordination and ability to throw with power and accuracy that not just everyone has. His physical ability is rare.

I went to a nutrition class held for world class swimmers. One thing the teacher said was the example of Wayne Gretsky. He ate a hot dog right before almost every hockey game. Wise? No. Probably the worst thing he could do. Was he still the greatest? Yes.
It was interesting what the dude said about what to eat right before and during major sports competitions.
And, of course, he said there was no miracles to really do in the days leading up to competition because if you haven't been eating right for quite some time, you weren't going to gain an edge right before the event...

I am pretty close to this diet already, although I do consume dairy, caffeine, and select night shades. But lean meats, vegetables and whole grains are 90% of my calories.

Absolutely would do it if I were an actor, rock star, model, or pro athlete
