a ring? ...yeah. Yeah she could.
I’m in the woman would win if she’s a top UFC mma fighter, but not Rousey. If a woman is going to win she needs to be elite in grappling and striking. Rousey punches no better than most of us and can’t kick worth a shite, can’t avoid strikes worth a shite either. I use to box, did it for 8 years, and I agree for a street fight, grappling can be better than boxing skills, but a woman is going to need both to win.
Knowing boxing helps the female more in an avoiding getting hit, going against average OTer throwing windmills and haymakers. A boxer would have fun with that.

The key variable here seems to be to what extent of an athlete the untrained male is.
I would 100 percent agree your 135 elite female mma fighter can beat your average male regardless of size, but thats only because the average male today either looks like a twitch streamer pencil or has the body profile of the shite emoji.
A male in reasonable shape with any semblance of fight instincts to close the distance and overpower the woman wins 9/10 times, whether its against a Valentina Shevchenko type striker or Rousey grappler.

When both are trained, size and a males natural superior bone structure comes into play making them almost impossible for a woman to defeat

Wait, so you think a 135 lb female mma fighter could beat down Dylan Crews?

I’m saying the average Joe off the street who trains in any martial discipline is beating a girl regardless of the man or woman’s size almost every time. Obviously a male professional athlete is going to be really good in any physical confrontation, and if he’s going against a woman he’s almost a lock to win.

If he’s not using a baseball bat then yes.
Eta: Saying that, I wouldn’t want to bet on either, he’s not your average male

Seriously? I think a professional male athlete over 200lbs probably catches a murder charge after this fight.

I admit that’s a tough one. I’d bet a small amount on female or I wouldn’t bet at all. I wouldn’t be shocked if the woman won at all though. Crews isn’t your average male. I’d be much less confident for a female going against DC than average male

quote:that’s tough. Obviously if the fighter is male the fighter wins. I also don’t know if nasal or Novak have any training themselves. If none, I’d lean the mma fighter, let’s say Amanda Nunez even though she just retired, but I could see the dudes winning. They’re in shape to not get gassed and are still going to be much stronger. But tennis players don’t strike me as guys to have ever been in a fight in their lives

This is dumb. If I went MMA style against Mayweather Jr. at his 130 pound Super Featherweight form, I would expect a complete arse kicking.
Mayweather at 130 pounds is a whole different animal than a woman at 130 pounds.
Did you even read the question?

Not even this though. Its not the training that is the limiting factor but the sheer size and strength differential. As an example, I'd take a completely untrained in shape male, say a line worker or fireman over the mma woman.

The women I use to spar with (boxing) in the gym 30 plus years ago, there were some good ones. Granted I was helping them work on technique and they the same for me, we weren't really "going at it" When I did jiu jitsu, it was 15 years ago, for only about 2 years. There were some tough women doing that. Saying that, your average guy would beat the shite out of all of them.
I'm factoring in a women who trains daily and it at the top of the world for 135lb, conditioning and fighting, multiple areas of expertise, I feel most regular untrained Joe's wouldn't win. I understand and respect the disagreements about Dyland Crews fighting a woman like that, I do think he is in extreme shape obviously, but no fighting experience and I still side with a woman, at the top of the world in fighting.

I have no idea how this would go, but I'd like to see it. Or even just a normal, semi-active golf playing suburban dad who has 100 pounds on her but doesn't really train for anything. I wouldn't necessarily put a bet on the dad, but I'd just be really interested to see how it goes - he's easily dispatched, makes a strong go of it but skill ultimately wins, she makes a go out of it but size wins, he wins easily, etc.

She connects with one good hit and you gonna be dazed. These people, men or women, probably can throw some hands.
