If you were less obvious you could probably get away with it for a while. Also move it around daily

Why not, people are living under overpasses every day…

Sure...but then you are living in a wal mart parking lot.

When you have a makeshift RV why not just be in the wilderness?

I’ve been noticing some Wal-Marts located right off the highway, like in Opelousas or Breaux Bridge or Youngsville have basically become 18-wheeler harbors. They park their shite there for a few days and sleep in their rig til they are ready to get back on the road I guess.

Nobody wants to long-haul truck anymore

I spent about an hour under the overpass the other day on lunch and a call and it was...weird. The constant hum-drumming of traffic filled me with unease and a sense of dread.

In Lake Charles all of the homeless basically live in the parking lot of the Walmart on HWY 14

Some of them set up tents between the WM parking lot and the back of a shopping center with a Pizza Hut. No doubt they were dumpster diving for food.

I used to wonder why there of all places but realized there's a church in that same area that constantly gives out free food to them and also lets them sleep in the church when it gets too cold.

The church started with good intentions but made a problem for the entire area because now that is hobo central for Lake Charles.

Walmart is a well known place that allows you to sleep in your car.

I was wondering the same thing. I’ve noticed an RV in the local Wal-Mart parking lot that’s been there for a couple months now.

Walmarts in Chicago were wild, when they still existed. Like a jungle

A lot of homeless encampment near WalMarts because you can go in and steal supplies as needed. Shortens the commute.

White panel Van nobody would notice.

If you painted a van in similar colors to the geek squad van you could also camp out in Best Buy parking lots.

I know an engineer who makes an impressive salary who does it for months on end. He will park his class A motorhome, which cost about what a modest home would cost, in the parking lot, unhitch the jeep and head off to work. Moves between Walmarts and Bass Pro Shops and Lowes type parking lots. He claims he is very seldom harassed about it and when it does happen just moves on. He ain't got the awning our and ain't grilling and drinking beer under the awning and for the most part no one pays him a bit of attention.

We have spent many a night in a parking lot in our motorhome. Never lived in one but have spent weeks in different ones over the years. Most don't mind if youre out of the way and if you're buying stuff from them. I have done it several times in lots with signs saying it was against the law and have never had an issue. Again, we ain't outside treating it like a campground.

"Sharing smiles"

"We run on donations"

Sounds about right.

I just checked out their website. Matilda the Bugus

Looks like they have 2 kids living in there with them. They have an actual list of things they would like you to buy for them.

Yep. They used to encourage people to stay overnight in their parking lots because they expected that family’s in RVs would come and shop for items in the store.

Not sure if any of that changed though.
