No. His hands would be turned into limp noodles once all of his tendons and ligaments were sliced to pieces by bobcat claws and teeth.

Lynx?

You would get torn up in the process, but yes a human could. You would have to fight your basic urges. When that thing latches on to you, your instinct will be to throw it off, but the proper move is to keep it close so you can overwhelm it with your size.

I wonder if that's really instinct or behavior learned during our coddled lives. An ordinary person's big brain could be a handicap in such a situation, reflecting on lacerations and what the copay will be, desire to avoid further injury, etc. Realizing it's a fight to the death is a hurdle that must be overcome, hopefully before you're shredded to pieces.

The brain stem makes those decisions, fight or flight.

Me, ain't no way I'm fighting a bobcat for fun.

Yeah - you don't want to frick with them.

Your best bet would be to grab it (if you could) by the hind legs and beat it against a tree or rock.

It would not be a pleasant encounter.

On another note, has anyone ever eaten one? Do they taste like chicken?

(inb4:first you make a roux).

People comparing a wild cat to a house cat are high.

A feral cat or a tom with an attitude is something you don't want to frick with.

I had a Tom that would attack anybody who got close to him while he was eating. Shocking behavior for a house cat.

People thinking a 20 lbs cat can overpower a grown man are giant pussies, he will bit you and then you will kill him in seconds, will it leave a few marcs, yes, but this is silly.

Uh, a Lynx IS a Bobcat, more specifically, Lynx is the species in which Bobcat falls under.

Carry on.

The shite kind of steroids are those bobcats on?

I think that's a lynx.

Most bobcats I've killed have been pretty damn small.

Are we talking about OT men here? Pshaw, all of us could kill a full grown Grizzly with our bare hands. Hell , one time I was out swimming in the ocean and a dolphin had to save a Great White from ME!!

I've killed a lion with my bare hands and a grizzly bear with just a hunting knife. The lion I jumped on his back holding on to the mane and gouged his eyes out and jammed my fingers into his brain. The bear I ducked his swipe and caught him in the jugular with a knife

I'd knock that thing out with one punch.....it's a cat for Christ's sake.

I don't see how. You're not going to sneak up on a bobcat...that's your only shot, imo. Once that cat engages you, I think you're done. One swipe of his paws across you neck and it's game over for you. Or, maybe he'll leap over you and come down with his jaws around you neck...game over.

A guy I used to know went around snapping pitbulls necks. He was eventually caught and spent a year in juvie. I'm guessing it would be the same thing as killing a bobcat

Your first problem is holding onto a squirming, biting, clawing bobcat. It will trying its damndest to escape.
