If a theoretical world it would Depend on how that 300B is spent.

but in Louisiana 50% would go to the politicians/politically connected.

then the rest would go to studies, advertising, and community "outreach".

less then 10% would actually go to trying to fix anything

in the end, all we would get is, a lot of state and local politician families be set for life....

So pretty similar to foreign aid.

Louisiana has a demographics problem but also a politician problem. We don't have honest or genuinely conservative politicians. We have drifters. Where is our DeSantis? Louisiana will always be a corrupt, struggling state because of the people we elect.

It would fix those politicians pockets, amirite. This is what I picture when I saw the title of the OP: fat Billy Nungesser come dancing up to the golden goose like the governor in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.

Stop electing them. Babblin Blanco, one Landrieu after another, JBE etc. It's the same as everything else in the state, "he/she is one of us, so must be good people." Bobby Jindal was hope, but then voters returned to where they've always been.

If the LA mayoral primaries were held in Louisiana, Karen Bass would have won outright, because she's black.

Maybe we could get a bunch of people who have been thinking about suicide to declare Louisiana an independent state, form an army, and attack federal buildings and say nasty things about the government on social media.

The government could counter that action and send in some drones and wipe them all out.

Then add Louisiana to a long list of countries that received aid like it was after World War Eleven and build some nice roads, bridges and write check to everyone and every thing.

Problem solved.

Iran is getting 300b.
If this holds, countries are going to be lining up to get "attacked" by the US.

This

$300B would magically turn into $3M in no time.

It would go right into the pocket of the first politician to cash the check.

In a weird irony, money doesn't fix poverty. Louisiana needs to get more people working and off welfare/out of prison for any sustainable change to occur.

When you start thinking of money as the result of productivity, it all starts to make sense why the trillions this country has spent will never solve poverty.
