Cost of food at Disney for 2 adults for 5 days?

I've budgeted for $800. Does this sound about right?
We only plan to eat breakfast at Disney 1 time (doing one of the buffets). The rest of the week we will be eating at the hotel (we are staying off of the grounds). Lunch, dinner, and snacks will be in the parks.
Will $800 allow us to eat all week in Disney, comfortably?

$10-$15 per person inside the park for lunch/dinner
$30 per person for lunch/dinner if you are eating at a reservation restaurant inside disney.

Depends on how nice you want the meals to be but it shouldn't be a problem. Just have a moderate lunch and you should have plenty for a nice sit down meal for dinner.

Good god yes.. as long as a large portion of eating is counter services.
This past summer the Wife, I and 3 kids went. 8 days. I spent around 1600.
We did a lot of sit downs.. Via Napoli, Liberty Tree, Norway Breakfast..etc
Also had dinner twice at our resort.
So yeah just 2 adults can easily do it for 800

It's not the cost that gets you, it's how everything starts to taste the same by day 3.

I spent $200 at California Grill a few weeks ago. But we had a good bit of wine. You should be able to make it on $800 if you don't get stupid and watch menu prices.

We went two weeks ago and used the basic meal plan to get one counter service and one table service meal per day. With two adults our cost for gratuity at dinner and a few drinks was ~$200 for the week. I'm not sure if you were factoring that into your budget, but it does add up quick with how much the food is marked up.

If by without kids, you mean when I was 10 years old and didn't have a kid yet, I believe you. Otherwise, no thanks.

I knew I was going to get a lot of hate for going to Disney without kids. I've been twice and my wife has never been. We wanted to go before kids and then again with kids when they are 7-8.
I know we will have fun, regardless what the OT thinks.

Taking it easy, definitely you can do it on $800

Yes, you can suffice on $800 in your scenario, assuming you're not eating table service meals with alcohol at one of the luxury hotels. There are a few good dining options at Disney that you could easily drop a couple bills at if you're drinking.

You'll have fun but you could just take a 3 day Carnival cruise instead

You'd get a lot of hate regardless.. Just comes with the territory here.. Hell, my wife and I have brought our kids half a dozen or more times since '07 .. I told i'd honestly like to go once without them..
