I knew I was going to get a lot of hate for going to Disney without kids. I've been twice and my wife has never been. We wanted to go before kids and then again with kids when they are 7-8
I'm sorry but this is weird.

It's not the cost that gets you, it's how everything starts to taste the same by day 3.
You know, staying on property with the meal plan, the only place I found this to be an issue was at Magic Kingdom. There are enough variety at the other parks to swap it up. If you are doing table service meals, the sky's the limit and there are plenty of places with good food.
OP, if you're taking your lady friend, you need to pony up the cash and take her to Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian. Took the wife there on the honeymoon. It's top notch.

Don't listen to any of the haters. My wife and I did the same exact thing last year. She had never been and we don't have kids yet.
It was awesome to see her enjoy it so much. You will have a blast

Nothing at all wrong with going without kids. Heck, some of the more roller coaster type rides are probably best appreciated by adults. And some of the attractions from the different countries around Epcot as well.
This thread makes me wonder though - where the heck is Mr. Tom Morrow. He was always in these threads with great info. Big time Disney fan. I think he might even have worked there at some time.
Did a quick search and doesn't look like he's posted since the end of '14. Hope he's ok and just maybe walked away from the boards.

Only for those who aren't familiar with all Disney world has to offer for adults.

Two ppl, without the wine pairing and you're looking at about $400. While I will say it was the best dining experience I've ever had, I don't think it's a requirement. I also don't think everyone should do it...there is so much to do especially for someone on their first trip, I don't know if it would be worth investing 1/2 day and half the food budget on one meal.

Please tell the class why. You should lead with the "it's a place for kids" line so we know right away that you don't know what you're talking about. An adult couple can have a fantastic time there as they would at any other vacation destination in the world. Unless you're too miserable or pretentious of course.

Yeah, I'm taking my honeymoon there in May, the future-wife and i both went when we were three so obviously don't remember anything, so it's like the first time for us.
and we do have reservations for Victoria and Albert's as well. gonna do this shite right, ha. the "never go without kids" opinion is fine i guess, but there is a lot to do there and i don't want to be trying to drag any dumb wiener kids to drink at epcot or fine dining in the evenings. it's why I've never gone on the family trips with my nieces.

Not a requirement by any means. But next year is my 10th anniversary and my wife still talks about our dinner there. It's pretty awesome and well worth the extra money if you can swing it.

2 adults, 5 days. If you eat only at Disney, you might want to move that decimal point on the 800 over to the right about 3 places.

Lunch - 2x25x5= $250
Dinner - 2x50x5= $500
If this is just food you should be fine. As long as you don't snack too much either.

5 days at disney sounds like a whole lot, especially when there are beaches nearby.
