That depends... when are they going to open a new mall?

The "iron on" T-shirt store next to the old Cortana Movie Theater was the tits back in the day. Little punks today have no idea how cool it was to pick out your own iron on, go see a movie, and then pick up your shirt before you left the mall. Good times.

Oakwood on the Westbank as well

Before Katrina Oakwood was pretty top notch, the storm started the downward spiral.

I'm sorry, but anyone who has recently opened up a store in Cortana within the last couple of years isn't getting any sympathy.

That place is a shite hole and it's pretty obvious business would be terrible.

Cortana should become the new Earl K. Long with doctor offices, clinics, pharmacies, therapists and such taking the store spaces. Easily accessible to all parts of the region.

He doesn't live in NBR? I know his business was on Perkins but I figured he lives in NBR at least.

There won't be a "new" mall. After mall of Louisiana goes downward not sure what happens next. I'm sure Amazon will be dominating. Although Best Buy is still doing well. Remember 3-4 years ago they said Best Buy would be belly up by now. Who knows?

Part of how Best Buy is surviving, IMHO, is severely cutting their in store inventory in a number of areas such as music, movies, etc, and devoting a lot of floor space to TVs, large appliances, and other stuff that they have shipped from warehouses.

Basically they are avoiding the Steve and Barry's trap of having a ton of money locked up in instore inventory which may not move in addition to having a thriving online presence.
