I worked down the street from around 2001-2012 and I'd go in there and eat at Chick-fil-A and Subway occasionally when they were still open. It was mostly already empty towards the end.

I dated a chick that worked at the corn dog place - I spent many hard earned dollars at that place.

Record store was right past Sears on the right

Record Bar. Met Bobbie Brown and the Nelson twin there when they were dating. Sadly, still have my copy of the his signed CD. Other music store was Musicland by Service Merchandise. Spent a lot of money on cassettes at both. Bought my outfit for Motley Crue/Skid Row at Merry Go Round. Still have it. First job was at Limited Too and then The Gap.

Member of the Maison Blanche Teen Board. We would do commercials, fashion shows and in house modeling for them. My first paycheck from then I went to Harley Davidson on Harrells Ferry and bought a motorcycle jacket. Still wear it to this day.

And they had guys who would throw those big styrofoam airplanes and make them do tricks. And there was some big “candy van” you could walk through and get free candy when you were done. The candy was like starburst but had a squishy middle.

The elevator in Godchaux’s (and all subsequent stores) by the exit near Books a Million had a button for a 3rd floor. WTF was on that third floor?!?

Not gonna lie. Pretty sad to read about the passing of the Journeys manager. Guy was awesome at his job.

Agreed. Dude was a Cortana icon.

He was the man to go to for Dr Martens
