Anyone else's governors screaming that they have to have thousands of ventilators??
Yeah, Ohio is scrounging up ventilators, anesthesia machines, bipaps, and cpaps from every "entity" in the state. Personal devices are of course excluded. I guess there are some modifications they can make to anesthesia machines to use them as well. There was a deadline the other day to report what you had to the state.

Yup, people still don't get statistics and exponential growth or mortality rates.
Remember when hospitals were overrun during the H1N1? Oh wait, they weren't.

Here's the only exponential growth I care about: 10 million. That's the number of Americans who have filed for unemployment in the last two weeks. We'll probably see that number at 20 million when the next report comes out.

Could it be any worse than Dr. Fauci who just today referred to 10 million unemployed Americans as an "inconvenience"?

Your brain will rot a lot slower if you stop following whackjobs like Bill Mitchell.
I'm sure your heart bleeds for them... so much so you're probably also against a $15 minimum wage requirement.

Alot of the people in here that supported the shut down initially because “it’s just a few weeks” are starting to squirm in here now
With the extended shutdowns, y’all will start losing jobs. People that thought they were immune from that will fall. Buckle up

Lol, COVID-19 has surpassed H1N1 in both tested positive cases and deaths already.
It is killing twice as many people per day than H1N1 did at it's peak and still rising.
Rest assured that when we go back and model the stats for this, its range will include max values higher than H1N1

Was this supposed to make sense?

What? Am I the first to tell you?

Covid 19 has not passed H1N1 is positive cases or Deaths yet
It’s about 59,000,000 cases short and 450,000 deaths short right now
Interested in how you respond

Yes, it has. You are quoting estimates based upon modeled data and comparing it to actual tested numbers.
There were less than 15000 actual confirmed deaths from swine flu my dude.
These huge numbers you are quoting come from a study that used modeling to estimate a range of values. The number you are quoting is the maximum value of that range lol.
Look, I'm not saying its "wrong". But Im saying that the COVID numbers are also going to be revised and increased by some factor as well.
It's just a really apples to oranges comparison to mislead

The study, co-authored by 9 members of the CDC Influenza Division, used an improved modeling approach which resulted in an estimated range of deaths from between 151,700 and 575,400 people

These global estimates are more than 15 times higher than the number of laboratory-confirmed deaths reported to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Well if people (like myself) were for initial, short term shutdowns but against anything longer then they have nothing to squirm about. They (I) were very against this from the beginning.
Now, I'm very worried about the hospitals, but I don't think shutting down the economy is the answer. I was all for the Easter timeline to then begin re-opening everything. Flattening the curve has largely happened by then, especially if we keep the 50% capacity in buildings policy and maintain social distancing practices.
If this goes until June I'll be the one carrying the pitchfork.
