But would a normal X-ray that catches the lung pic catch it? I’m mean I’m guessing.

CT is far more sensitive than X-ray for this.
A good portion of these patients of clear X-ray but gunky CT

Stolen from PT, but this will likely become more widespread as the shutdown presses on...

what reasons are there to not extrapolate a police departments infections numbers to the general population?
why can we not start to believe 10% of the population in NY are actively infected

If 12.8% of police are sick, I have to wonder what that number is for health care?

Man today's stats were really good, worldwide decreases in reported #s. Hopefully it isnt just random oscillation of the overall trend or like low reporting on Sundays or something

This is what concerns me, but I'll take any reason for optimism we can get at this point

I could see it going both ways. Higher due to the number of cases and direct exposure. About the same/lower due to us taking very good precautions with our PPE.
I saw a Covid guy today in his room for a PT evaluation at my hospital. The nurses (who are normally ortho nurses mind you) were fricking on top of it and kicking arse with the PPE education and helping take care of me and one another.
There’s a shitload of awesome work going on out there with lots of people getting better and going home. Not just young people either, but positive cases in their 80s.

Has LA had any recoveries? Didn’t see any this morning on accuweathers interactive map.

Because the job of the police involves dealing with lots of people, and that sometimes means coming into contact with them? I didn't have to deal with some mentally ill homeless person spitting on me today at my job.

Austria, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, are running hard on a specific definition of exactly what is a corona virus death. They're all suffering massively, but will not admit it.
Assholes.
Assholes.

There have been, but they are not reported.
Not sure if a certain criteria has to be met to say they are recovered.

OK, this is a really important paper that just came out. The President had previously talking about opening up businesses by Easter, but today, he extended the guidance to stay shut down through the end of April. With that in mind, it's worth talking about exactly what should trigger relaxing rules, and how we get there.
Scott Gottlieb, who was FDA Director from 2017-2019, is the lead author of this new comprehensive assessment and set of recommendations. It's a tough pill to swallow. The authors (including another former FDA Director), say that to open things like restaurants, schools, and hair salons, we need to meet the following conditions:
* A sustained reduction in cases for at least 14 days,
* Hospitals in the state are safely able to treat all patients requiring hospitalization without resorting to crisis standards of care,
* The state is able to test all people with COVID-19 symptoms, and
* The state is able to conduct active monitoring of confirmed cases and their contacts.
It's possible to envision Louisiana getting there by the end of April, but if I were handicapping it, I think that I'd put the betting line 10 days later.

Wait...So you believe that all of the countries providing positive data, relative to others, are lying about it?

America will be broke if it comes to the end of April.
Social distancing/quarantine is ending whether the feds/state want it to or not. Unless they plan to mobilize the national guard no way they prevent social interaction from happening.
If thet want to go after businesses it will only make the economic section worse.
