Forgive me because this is going to be a really stupid question, but If not much coughing, what is causing the lungs to be trashed? Simply from low oxygen?

And I just got notice of ticket payment due.
Communication is going to be key during this shite.
You'll be fine.

The virus itself; the viral pneumonia and subsequent damage.
Low oxygen is a result of the lungs impaired ability to exchange gases

Frankly I’m not sure of a safe prophylactic dose for zinc, I can look it up easy enough but it’s not something I’ve recommended often

We recommend 220 mg every day for residents with wounds so id say no but I’m not a doctor.

We are actually seeing a fair amount of patients without fever or cough, too, but lungs completely trashed in CT. Their o2 sats are low but that’s really the only physical finding beyond imaging.
IMO, o2 sat screening in conjunction with temperature screening would be most effective
What prompted these patients to present to the hospital? Just short of breath and that’s it?
Also, how would temp screening help if people often don’t have a fever and considering you can be contagious before ever developing symptoms?

Oh I can pay it. Husband and I are both still working (me from home and he’s a farmer) but I don’t want to pay for games that I can’t go to.
But I appreciate the suggestion.

Yeah, a quick google gives conflicting information, but seems that it may be best to only take it at onset of symptoms.

One had a heart attack other had a broken hip.
Temp screening is far from perfect but everything is about risk mitigation, it’s all we have right now

So as we’ve suspected, its very likely that a ton of people have or have had this and simply fought it off on their own.
They need to hurry up with the test that shows whether you had or not, so we can get a true picture of the impact.

What kind of time frame for the antibody test??? I’ll be the first in line.

I haven’t heard a timeframe, but the quicker they can get that up and running, the better.
Start testing those that have already had it and can’t get it again and send their asses back to work first.

Researchers have already announced they developed one. I think the real question is when can it be widely available?
LINK
I had seen news of another foreign company developing a antibody test as well but I can't find it now.

Oh wow. So you wouldn’t have known except for these other ailments? Did THEY even know they had already had it? And will the lungs get better over time or do we know that?

Yeah, chatting with a radiologist and they are seeing trashed looking lungs with patients in for things like rule out appendicitis. I guess they are just in good condition and don’t feel it symptomatically. This wasn’t going on back in November, etc.

So does it take a ct scan or will X-ray catch it? I just ask as ct scans have been mentioned for diagnosing.
