It seems like people are entrenched in the idea of their side winning, when there is no winning in a situation like this. shite is going to suck either way.
We should be making decisions based on sound, defensible science. The fact that we can’t agree on that is a bigger problem than the coronavirus.

You do realize not a single case that would have come from Tracey's would be reported yet.

The serious nature of this was known before that. And you're only referring to one isolated incident where people were continuing to mill about the city. Fortunately now, looking at the Bourbon Street cam there's little no one on the street.

I'd rather worry about the economy later than half-arse precautions and risk this shite lingering for a year or more.

My personal opinion? Having people die as a result of this isn't the end of the world. 50k-100k over the next 12 months really wouldn't be enough to convince me to continue on the path we are on.

I work in healthcare. Death sucks. But I promise you that for some of the the residents the home where I work, Corona would be a blessing IF they could be kept comfortable and not in pain. Like it pains me to see the state that some of them are in.

It’s going to linger for a year or more regardless. Until there’s a vaccine, it’ll be around. So at some point, the economy will have to take precedence
