Considering how restrictive they are of access to the country...maybe not that bad?
I'm sure if they had cases, they'd just kill the person with it.

If you let the market close first, a travel ban panic would calm down somewhat by Monday.
You're presuming most of the market doesn't know already.
Don't be so naive man.

Any word on how bad this hit North Korea?
If you're curious, I recommend Daily NK, a South Korean media outlet that focuses on reporting in North Korea. They have lots of stories that suggest that the virus is wreaking havoc in North Korea. A report from about a week ago that over 200 military officers had died got a lot of press here in the US.

They're actually all immune.

In an analysis published Tuesday, Stanford’s John P.A. Ioannidis — co-director of the university’s Meta-Research Innovation Center and professor of medicine, biomedical data science, statistics, and epidemiology and population health — suggests that the response to the coronavirus pandemic may be “a fiasco in the making” because we are making seismic decisions based on “utterly unreliable” data. The data we do have, Ioannidis explains, indicates that we are likely severely overreacting.

Ioannidis then zooms in on the “one situation” where “an entire, closed population was tested”: the Diamond Princess cruise ship’s quarantined passengers. While the fatality rate was 1.0%, he points out, the population was largely elderly, the most at-risk demographic. Projected out onto the age structure of the U.S. population, he calculates, the death rate is more like 0.125%, with a range of 0.025% to 0.625% based on the sample size

Just found out my neighbor has been in hospital waiting on test to come back since Monday. Her husband can visit once a day but has to be in a hazmat suit. I didn't have any contact with her at all the past 2 weeks should I still disclose this info to my boss and coworkers? I don't think I have it and want to keep working but id feel really bad if somehow I came in contact with it and passed it on cause I didn't say anything.

Governor Cuomo must be on his period. He is crying all over TV about love and his feelings.

Sounds like a more contagious flu to me.

Cases needing hospitalization in New York is nearly 18% (1,255/7,102).

He's given updates and made requests but I've heard more stories from him that just don't make a difference right now. I asked why and was told he's looking to 2024.

Someone above just posted that his neighbor is in the hospital but didn't say how serious -- only that she's waiting for results to come back. So that's why I'm wondering if NY is admitting people to just keep them isolated until they know.

Dude check my post history on this disease. I'm pissed about the overreaction. That doesnt mean I dont want to take precautions if I were somehow potentially in contact with it.

chief is she "serious" as in sick sick and having issues breathing or just really hanging out to see if she's positive?
Posted on 3/20/20 at 10:58 am to tiger91
He told me she was having trouble breathing which is why they have kept her in there.
