Wuhan has been locked down to the extreme for a month. We don’t know what the risk would be if they didn’t do that.
Yeah, I love the arguments of “it isn’t that widespread, not that many people got it”
Oh, in that country where they locked everyone in?

Exactly. Only way it happens is if people are still allowed to go to the grocery store/pharmacy
And the groceries didn’t allow hoarding. Only a certain amount of each item.

Yep. They are setting up the drive through testing area.

I get my results tomorrow. I feel the same today as I have all week. I dry cough that is moderate during the day but severe when lying down. I have muscle pain and a few other symptoms. I honestly feel sort of like I have the flu. I should have had the wisdom to stay away from my daughter and son in law since I knew they had just got of a plane from Washington state. They both tested positive as well as my two year old granddaughter. I am pretty certain my results will come back positive tomorrow. Like I said this morning, my employer thinks I lied about everything to keep from coming to work even though I have only called out of work twice in the past five years and only because my dad passed away. I along with my family have agreed to stay at home for the time being and my mother in law will bring us food as needed. I will continue to give updates if/when results come in tomorrow morning. I am only 44 yrs old but I smoked for a lot of those years. I don't think I have any reason to panic and will just thank God for the extra few weeks at home with my kids. Life is good.

Italy reports 5,322 new cases of coronavirus and 427 new deaths, raising total to 41,035 cases and 3,405 dead. Death toll in Italy now surpasses that of China.

Sleep with pillows sitting you up. You probably have some fluid on your lungs.

For reference sake, when did this start up in Italy? Mid-February?
Posted on 3/19/20 at 1:05 pm to Klark Kent
These times remind me spring / summer 2010 when the BP Oil Spill occurred.

Dude. They lock everyone in because a percentage of the population who gets this virus is in the ICU for weeks and destroys the medical system.
The fact that systemic risk is high does not negate the fact that individual risk is low.

Yet you can’t offer an explanation as to why only 2 players on the jazz got it. They were all a mere feet from one another in the locker room

We don't really know for sure. A leading Italian virologist has claimed that the virus actually made its way to Italy by the end of November, but I am skeptical of that claim.
I believe that the first positive test result occurred on February 15th.

Sure I can. You don’t catch every contagious infectious disease somebody has just by being near them. Raises your risk sure

The average person who gets COVID-19 spreads it to 2-3 people, which is exactly what Rudy Gobert did. In fact, though, he almost certainly would have spread it to more people if he had not been tested and quarantined.

Hmm but from reading the board, we should ignore the fact that 80-85,000 out of 1.4 billion in china got infected strictly due to quarantines and not maybe because it doesn’t spread as easily as once thought
Posted on 3/19/20 at 1:14 pm to GOP_Tiger
So how again is that a “low risk” of spread. You just explained that it isn’t.

For the thousandth time way more than that got infected. And yes their strict quarantine worked...at least for now/
