Link? Or are you referencing a conspiracy that China is hiding numbers

My link is every other respiratory virus in the world when everybody isn’t tested.
I guess you think the total numbers in Louisiana are accurate too.....pfffft

He is going to link a news article about a conspiracy that china “may” be hiding their numbers. It will be followed by 7-8 upvotes from posters trying to push an agenda

The SF lockdown ready isn’t much different than what other places are doing, they just called it a lockdown.
It seems to be pretty well going alright here in Kentucky. They’re testing more but people are doing a decent job of self-isolating or social distancing. I saw a graph earlier today that showed we’re actually flattening the curve compared to our neighbors.
Most of our non-essentials are closed or doing curbside stuff.

Great so no evidence based link that secretly 200,000 Chinese people got infected.
Even if you multiply 80k by 5, you get a whopping 0.02% of the Chinese population

That's great.
Errrrbody else doing alright up in here? My throat is itchy and I drank too much last night.
Working from home sucks... Day seems to never end
Also drive-by downvote for waydownstupid.

Good news on the smoking front is studies have shown that smokers who have quit have lungs that recover impressively quickly.
At first it was thought quitting before 30 got you almost 100% lung recovery, but another study I saw extended some of those great results to older ages. So if it helps, your lungs may not be in as bad of shape as you think.

Best Buy releases internal memo saying that starting next week, employees don't have to come in and will be paid full wages. HOWEVER, those that come in will receive an additional $2.50/hourly.

Well, what are you trying to argue? The flu is contagious, this is contagious etc. You may get it if exposed to it and may not. Anybody taking an extreme on either end is ridiculous. (Nah you can hardly catch this thing or you can catch this thing within 10 miles of an affected person).
If you feel something is rare to catch because only 5 people on a basketball team got it, than I don’t know what to tell you. Yes, vast majority will be mild cases and if they weren’t NBA players, nobody would have ever known. But you can keep on somehow believing the stat totals are anywhere near accurate if you would like.

Brother, you have no idea how much reading this just lifted my spirits. Not because I think having covid is going to kill me but because at 44 I was worried that even if I quit smoking tomorrow the damage was irreversible. Again, thank you. It is a good time to quit my friend.

Update from physician in Italy (again on private physician board so I can’t link it, If you don’t want me posting these updates anymore let me know. No, this isn’t a chain from Grandmas facebook)
“Update from Verona Italy. My hospital went only Covid. 120 beds and only those patients. I’m an OB and on Monday our unit will be already full of only these patients and that’s who I will be caring for. They have begun to ask Vets for their ventilators as well. I can’t tell what is scarier. You guys need to go full lockdown right now, like RIGHT NOW.”

I’m arguing it’s ridiculous to shut things down to the extent Louisiana has. You want to shut down sports and mass gatherings for two weeks fine. I can deal with that. But these 30 day shutdowns of small businesses are absolutely incredibly stupid
ETA: You are correct, the stat totals are off, and if there were wide spread testing, it would have numbers very similar to the flu as far as death rate and hospitalizations are concerned

No swabs for testing.
This why you cannot treat the numbers. You must treat the community. I would think these shortages will be a nationwide problem?

As he should. Even if it’s not true, they should get ahead of it and request more resources.
People will see that and panic.

Can you explain why Italy, China, and South Korea haven’t been overrun like this in other bad flu season? Or even come close to this level?
