Same here with our daughter to shop for us. Two weeks ago we stocked up. Only problem now is finding bread, milk, eggs and good fresh veggies. Daughter said there are none around.

Do you have any local fruit/vegetable market types near you or your daughter? I've had far more luck finding food essentials at those places than the big box stores that are being raided. Some of them here will do curbside so you don't have to go in too.

14 day quarantine will start this weekend. Tons of bad info and rumors out there right now.

I have no doubt they discussed it but it’s not feasible. There is zero chance people could get 14 days worth of provisions and there zero chance the state government would in any way be able to provide them.

Exactly. Only way it happens is if people are still allowed to go to the grocery store/pharmacy

Exactly, no way that works. If they try it I don't think it ends well at all.

None around here. There is one fellow that grows and sells fresh veggies. Had call and he is out at the time, but said he will call when he has more. Daughters garden will start to produce in about a month.

Even in Wuhan they were allowed to go get groceries, just with certain restrictions.

I also don't see what purpose such a national quarantine would serve? If there are certain areas that need to be addressed, then the local or state government can address them. Politically Trump is going to be extremely reluctant to implement a nationwide lockdown.

You should see the pictures of the “lockdown” in SF people are out and about. Unfortunately people won’t stay home unless they are afraid and right now not enough people are afraid enough to follow a shelter in place.

Not saying people should be afraid but fear is the ultimate motivator.

If this was killing 10 or 20% you would see some real shite then. Everyone is freaking, but in reality they believe it is virtually harmless.

They would not be waiting for the government to confine them at home.

It may happen, but please realize you still have access to “essentials”. And their definition of essential is pretty broad. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, hardware stores. Basically where we are at now but add retail stores (Dillard’s. Academy, Sprint) and lots of white collar jobs.

So did Trump talk about hyrdochrloquine? I read that he did. Sounds like we're inching closer to this being a preferred treatment method and very promising.

Even in those locales where shelter in place is ordered/contemplated, an exception exists to allow for food and other daily essential supplies. This is why it's crazy that people are hoarding. Even in a worst case scenario, people will be allowed to leave to get food, etc.

I don’t. A lot kids probably have it but it is probably like most every other cold to them so nobody pays it any attention. But then they spread it.

The overall risk for any individual getting COVID-19 is very small. Even in Wuhan, it was only 0.5%.

Here is what is still open in SF during the lockdown.

Businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies, laundromats, banks, and gas stations are allowed to remain open, while restaurants will continue to fulfill delivery order.

He did. Said we're using it and will be monitoring its efficacy (in so many words)

Wuhan has been locked down to the extreme for a month. We don’t know what the risk would be if they didn’t do that.

The SF lockdown ready isn’t much different than what other places are doing, they just called it a lockdown.

I know they set up at the Alario to handle drive up testing there.
