I was looking at that paper about hydroxychloroquine, would one of the posters with a medical background mind explaining why an immunosuppressive drug would be effective against the virus? It seems counterintuitive to a layman.

I doubt very seriously that it does directly.

It’s far more likely that the blood type alleles have a gene linkage with genes regulating other traits that affect the virus.

(Basically genes not far away from blood type genes are more likely to tag along during chromosomal recombination at meiosis.

It’s lot more common than you think.

And then changed the criteria again a week later. I read an article, Forbes maybe, that said they had changed a total of 6 times during the early course of the disease. And they never released parallel data as far as I can tell. And now Chinese numbers have essentially evaporated, nearly stopped cold at the borders of the Hubei province.

The "conspiracy theories" get roundly dismissed by message boards and media ("tin foil hat" has become a trite way of dismissing unwanted speculation), but I'd guess that our government has spent a lot of money and effort trying to figure out how exactly this occurred.

And still people harp on this as a big nothing because the numbers have dropped in China.

You are better served simply being aware this virus has a moderate risk of inducing pneumonia and go read up on maternal pneumonia.

Y'all seemed up to speed on the virus and its effects. I was just curious if anything had come out about whether it affects pregnancies.
