True, but if there are areas where there are still shortages those cases could easily slip through the cracks.
I posted in another thread about someone I know who, along with several co-workers, learned that they’d been in close contact with someone who’d tested positive and immediately reported their exposure. They were all told to go to the hospital and were briefly “quarantined” before being released to self-quarantine by a very frustrated doctor who told the group they simply couldn’t get tests authorized because one agency or the other wouldn’t allocate tests for anyone who wasn’t symptomatic yet because of limited supply. Last update I got was yesterday afternoon, but at that time they had not been tested or notified that they would be anytime soon. If all this is accurate we’ve still got some major and problematic gaps in surveillance.
