Well that says 0.5% and Italy’s current number is undoubtedly skewed. SK has had by far the most testing with one of the largest sample sizes having tested mild cases as well and finding those that don’t show symptoms. Tigerskin, who seems like one of the most level headed here even if we don’t always agree, leans heavily on SK. Where’s Germany at now?

What is the death rate if you’re under 70?

I think it's something like 0.1-0.2%.

Isn’t that what we’ve been working with from SK?

I remember yesterday or the day before someone told me this was expected to settle out at somewhere between twice and six times the flu rate. They had a link.

That was me. I was basing that on the CDC estimate of between .1% and 1% mortality.

For reference normal flu is like .14%.

They seem to be leading the way on how to combat this virus. Other countries that you wouldn’t think to be on the forefront are as well. Maybe we should take heed.

Just a guess but the NBA is following the Warriors and finishing the season without fans.

I lean heavily on SK too. That’s why I said it’s much closer to SK, but you can’t deny the flaws in their data if you are going to pick the flaws Italy’s data.

Their flaws? They aren’t using estimates on confirmed cases. If you add any cases they’ve somehow missed, then the rate is even lower.

My better half and I have been in Santa Clara, CA for the last 3 weeks. We’re at the San Jose Airport now waiting to fly home to FL. It is very quiet. We walked right through TSA, no lines. Gates seem practically empty. We stayed in a hotel in Sunnyvale the entire time and all of our meals have been in restaurants. We were here for a family emergency, his brother had a stroke and we are his only support system. He’s in a rehab center and it’s concerning to think of what would happen if the virus shows up there. I had a little scare myself with a sinus infection a couple of days ago, but went to a clinic and was given antibiotics and feel fine now. We do feel we should avoid seeing all of our family members for a while when we return home as they are 70+ and not in the greatest of health. We’re 63 and 70, but in excellent health, but we do feel the need to take it seriously. On another note, you never think about how disgustingly dirty the seats are in the terminal. Glad I had some Lysol wipes. Stay safe everyone!

Yes, in the study they have 66% women and only 20% were over 50. That’s not equivalent to the demographics in the United States.

We are closer to 50% men/women and over 50 is atleast 30%

So again like I said it’s closer to SK, certainly not as high as Italy. But somewhere in between.

SK did a massive amount of testing. I don’t believe they are missing a lot of cases, what they are missing is likely offset by active cases that haven’t died yet.

That’s cool if you see it differently. It’s just my opinion.

Problem is this isn't going to go away anytime in the immediate future.

Did he say UK was exempt from travel ban or they were exempt from the other monitoring of goods?
