That's because the poli board loonies are out.

It should be a rule, every time you post on the poli board you lose posting privelages in the rest for the forums for 1 minute for the number of times you have posted there.

Well, right now everyone is fixated on the rates. So people have been choosing their Favorite dataset. Patients 0-20... less likely to die with covid19. Old... more likely. From italy... covid is the plague. From Germany... you’re fine... for now. The numbers will change of course. That’s all I’m saying.

You Are using a 4% number that isn’t comparable in any way to the flu.. yet.

im more afraid of being quarantined than the getting the actual sickness

the public panicking about this is absolutely fricking absured. You get it and get flu like symptoms then it resolves itself within 1-2 weeks

just when i thought the media couldn't ramp something up more than the swine flu we get this shite

just relax, ride along, if you get sick oh well just relax and do your normal flu routine. other than that just wait for the vaccine to come out

They will indeed change. Those numbers will start to come down as it gets warmer and the fearmongerers will pretend this thread never existed.

Sharing information as it is released doesn't mean you are a fear mongering or in a panic. I have zero concern about catching this virus but it is an interesting thread to follow. Not sure why some of you cant understand that. I don't watch the news but so without this thread I would have no idea what was happening with this thing. I don't see posters running scared about the virus but I see a few of you acting as if they were. This isn't fox news here bro.

I’m not talking about the people who are just updating the masses. There are people in this thread, however, who are wanting a Spanish Flu-like spread/mortality rate. They get off on this shite because their lives are boring and they desperately want this to be big so it can bring some much-needed excitement into their lives.

There is very little of what you are talking about in this thread. You guys are giving all of us a hard time and completely trolling the shite out of this thread. If this thread doesn't interest you then don't click on it just to troll folks who are interested in it. The few chicken littles are in the minority and overall harmless.

There's currently no reason to believe that this will happen.

We can hope because nobody truly knows what's going to happen but the experts are not expecting this to fizzle out like the seasonal flu.

Link?

Every assessment I’ve heard says it will due to its lifespan on surfaces in warm/wet environments.

We've been told not to share info, but we are all doing it anyway.

Thanks for posting this. Best info on this thread so far.

I'm hoping the reason they don't want employees sharing information is because they want one voice from the hospital, but sharing actual medical info seems like a strength when dealing with a new disease.

My wife (nurse, no pics) thinks Alabama has its first case.

Some patient at UAB, where her coworkers daughter is a nurse, is showing symptoms and had traveled to an area where they could have likely gotten it.

I don’t know why this is such a big thing. Every state outside of maybe Alaska will have a case of this. However, unlike the hopefulness on here, not every state will be Italy.

It’s $600 a test. Don’t think insurance will pay anything special as of right now.

So what if you go to doc and they want to do the test and you refuse bc of cost?

Do they tell you to go home and self quarantine? Do it and hospital eat cost?
