Per BNO, Lombardy alone may 100+ new deaths. A little over two weeks ago, there were 3 cases in all of Italy. Now, it’s close to 6k. Why is it so hard for people to take this seriously?

Moscow threatens with prison for failure of 'self-isolation' over coronavirus

Moscow city authorities threatened prison terms of up to five years on Sunday for people failing to self-isolate in their homes for two weeks after visiting countries hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak.

The city government had announced a “high alert regime” and imposed extra measures on Thursday to prevent a spread of the illness in the Russian capital.

Those who return from China, South Korea, Iran, France, Germany, Italy and Spain and other states showing possible “unfavourable” signs of coronavirus should self-isolate themselves at home for 14 days, Moscow city hall has said.

The Moscow healthcare department said on Sunday that those disregarding the regulation risked severe punishment including imprisonment of up to five years.

There have been 15 cases of coronavirus infections reported in Russia so far.

Think we all know this but the Surgeon General on Face the Nation said we're past containment and now focusing on mitigation.

An example of what happens when government bureaucracies stop focusing on their true mission/purpose and start focusing on asinine PC and political topics.

Preparing for stuff like this is literally the CDC’s sole purpose.

That house needs to be cleaned out ASAP.

Which so many of us were screaming in the beginning but were made fun of or ridiculed. Now many who were downplaying this are being called dooms-wishers.

2/ The first surprise was the speculation by many that the case fatality rate will be much lower once we find all of these “mild” and “asymptomatic” cases, which you don’t as easily pick up early on in an outbreak.

Apparently the data @WHO has doesn’t support this theory.

@AbraarKaran 4/ Another surprise: the Chinese data where the 80% “mild” cases number comes from —that was not a “mild cold”. That was: you have a fever, possibly even a full pneumonia. Not your run-of-the-mill sniffles. “Severe” (which was ~15%) meant you were on oxygen or a ventilator.

Oh man. This thing is going to really shock people with how bad the cases are going to get.

The same people screaming about “mu flu” are going to be the same people screaming about how the government didn’t do enough to stop the spread.

I want to let you know I’ve put in a trademark for it.

Let this post serve as notice of a cease and desist of usage of “muh flu” while my
attorney drafts the appropriate paperwork.

T-shirts are coming.

The fact that this is spreading fast in places like italy, france, SK, etc leads me to believe that containment was never a plausible possibility.

It is still going to be similar to the flu in many ways. And how exactly could this have been completely shut down realistically? In theory maybe, but a complete shutdown of nearly everything from day 1 isn’t reality.

The reaction to it doesn’t mean it is dissimilar.

That doesn’t mean I want the flu nor Coronavirus.
