Why is it that most of the world is taking this seriously and our CDC is sitting on its dick? This is absurd
Because we all need to be worried about the flu. This is a big nothing burger.

epidemiology of the 1918 flu
The point was we don’t know how long this virus can stay able to infect people when it is in a body.

Right. It’s like people who made a big deal about Katrina when there was a much bigger natural disaster in Indonesia less than a year prior.
I mean shite, if there’s anything else that’s ever happened that can be deemed “worse”, than whatever is going on at present really isn’t a concern

We will be telling our grandkids about this virus. At least the ones who survive will. I think the preppers May be laughing last when all is said and done.

Yeah.
In the permafrost in the Artic.
We keep smallpox in freezers too in spite of not having been in humans in 50 years.

Hypothetical:
Will country wide quarantines similar time what China did be necessary?
And would you be ok with that?

It is I believe. According to local news they said the patient is from Solano county but receiving treatment in Sacramento,
Wow, so has to be from the patients they brought in and housed at Travis AFB then.

Some of us have been posting for days that they have not been testing and getting downvoted and argued with.
Pretty sure the arguments were on other points and not saying that they actually were testing when they in fact weren’t, but you keep stuffing that strawman.

It is not. It is community acquired.

For how long? We can’t shut the country down for months. A few weeks won’t stop the spread. I think we’ll see local outbreaks with local responses.

The wishcasters are the one who came up with that strawman. Back in the day when at the sign of the first sniffle, they wanted to cut the US from all international travel and cease all comercial transit with China.
I do realize moderating against hyperbolic stances like that, does imply saying it’s a “nothing burger” in context.
For the record, my call almost at the very start was between 5k-10k deaths. And depending on your frame of reference, that is a “nothing burger”
Time will tell if it pans out.

Any world left over after all systems have been wiped out by this virus is not going to be a world worth living in.

Only times that seems to happen is when we have good news. Every negative spin brings the hyperbole out.

They just learned of it, you have no basis to say no it’s not. If it shows up in the same county that they brought in people from the infected area that’s going to be the most likely link.
The issue is there is no testing or presceening if there are no symptoms, per CDC policy. People will be walking around and in contact transmitting to others while having no idea

calm down francis.
Trust me, you are wrong. It is completely unrelated to TAF. Those pts went to Queen of the Valley hospital. Read the article.

This spreads much easier than most viruses though. That's what's concerning
