Granted, in Wuhan itself it's clearly a big deal, but the numbers elsewhere, particularly outside of China, are still incredibly mild.
This is obviously your consistent argument. It will be interesting to see how you react if this changes. My opinion is that our best resource right now is time. To wait until people start dying in the US is giving up that advantage.

What specifically do you think should be done in the US?
Well to start...
Travel ban for nonessential personnel
Stockpiling of drugs and supplies
Plan for hospital overflow

I honestly don’t know if you’re trolling or stupid.
You actually think a pt with unstable vital signs would be on a floor bed in the United States?

Appreciate you taking a stab at something. As you know by now, I think a travel ban everywhere is the only way to help, but a travel ban everywhere is far too draconian.

Honkus and his family was never quarantined in SD or SA they were at March Base out side of LA. None of the passengers that was on the first flight out of Wuhan ever contracted CV-19. They were the lucky ones as they got out before it got out of control.

Hopefully the powers that be are not taking this lightly.
They aren't, that doesn't change the fact that we can't realistically prepare or be ready for something of the magnitude you are eluding to if all ICU beds are swamped.

It's like you can't even read the guidelines you posted...
quote:
Serious: Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable.
I'd you've got pneumonia and a fever, your vitals are unstable. Doesn't necessarily mean you're on a ventilator in ICU.

BRPD is about 6 officers contraction the virus away from walking off the job and staying home. NOPD is probably less. I hope they have a plan for that.

. It’s not like other illnesses requiring ICU just stop happening. We are probably already using a 1/4 of those at any given time.
BR General without this virus is currently full, they are moving some out so 20/24 taken, it hits here the other patients have more than MRSA to worry about. Let’s be honest, 1st world or not, hospital bed in the US is the last place you want to be. Still a ton of bugs to deal with and this is just an added.

Again you have no idea what you’re talking about. Just stop while you’re behind. A fever does not qualify as “unstable vital signs”

Being on a ventilator is not the only indication to be in the icu. Many pts are in the icu because they need a higher level of monitoring. These are pts that are about to go south or just recovered from being critical but aren’t yet well enough for the floor.

Yea I thought Slack knew what he was talking about in here until the last couple of pages

I’m guessing he’s about to claim “trolling.”

65000+ REPORTED cases of Ncor-19 worldwide but only 6k have recovered, that doesn't sound right to me? If China is reporting approx 5k new cases a day, how is that being confirmed? The US cannot even get test results back for the first 200 people that came on the first plane from Wuhan over 2 weeks ago.
What was being sprayed in the offices in China with full hazmat suits? Nothing sprayed in the air is going to kill any virus.

Sigh.
Nearly 1 in 5 people were discharged completely from Dallas area hospitals with one or more unstable vitals, yet a few of you fools think it's a guaranteed trip to the ICU.

what? It’s better to keep quiet and have everyone think you don’t know what you are talking about then to speak up and remove all doubt
What do you take issue with in my post? Be specific.
A fever is an abnormal vital, is it not? Difficulty breathing due to pneumonia is an unstable vital, is it not?
If you have a fever and pneumonia, are you always in the ICU?
