So should I be gearing up my plague outfit in South LA yet?

Confirmed cases on that cruise ship are now up to 130. This will be a great case study.

Cruise ship is pretty much worst case scenario. So much common, shared area.
I read they're all getting refunds and a voucher for another cruise at no cost. I'm sure they're all excited to take another cruise soon.

If you die of organ failure or pneumonia you aren’t part of that total quoted.
Not true.
ETA - especially the pneumonia part. Hell, pneumonia is what goes on your death certificate if you die from the flu in the US. That's pretty standard stuffy. You're still in the total though.

Ring-a-round the rosie,
A pocket full of posies,
Ashes! Ashes!
We all fall down.

Yea, I would like to see a link for that. There is a paper coming out that says it can be up to 4 weeks from first signs of infection until the pneumonia sets in. People might be confusing the two.

Chinese National Health Commission has changed their definition of #WuhanCoronavirus "confirmed case" in their latest guidelines dated 7/2. Patients tested positive for the virus but have no symptoms will no longer be regarded as confirmed. This inevitably will lower the numbers.

Median incubation is 3 days with a range of 0-24 days.
I'd like to know how they figure that. I know they're trying to trace contacts, but you're relying on people to remember what other people they've contacted. Seems pretty unscientific, albeit, the best they can do under the circumstances.

Fwiw, BNODesk wasn't counting asymptomatic cases from countries that reported them anyway.
ETA - appears they are counting asymptomatic if it's reported by a reputable source. However, Japan doesn't count asymptomatic cases in their official numbers, for example.

New travel restrictions in effect as coronavirus spreads:
• Taiwan will ban most people traveling from Hong Kong and Macao starting tomorrow
• South Korea will temporarily ban cruise ships
How long until all of Asia and the Pacific Islands are cut off to outside travel?

I don't think this is true. From their notes:
Japan: The total includes 4 asymptomatic cases, which are not included in the government’s official count.

They aren't reporting them unless they get them from somewhere reputable. I edited.
The better point is that some counties don't include asymptomatic cases in their count already - Japan obviously being one.
