WHO Director-General says in a tweet Sunday that there have been concerning instances of #coronavirus being spread from people with no travel history to China, saying “we may only be seeing the tip of the iceberg” when it comes to the virus.

They seem to be somewhat limited in how many cases they can confirm in one day. It might be useful to look at the trend for suspected cases.

More than yesterday, less than the day before, three days before, and four days before.

Things might be hitting a crest in Hubei. I believe 3100 or so is the most they've confirmed in a day so far, so it doesn't seem to be a capacity issue.

Also, some more good news...

quote:

The number of suspected cases has dropped significantly: from 28,942 yesterday to 23,589 today. Despite that, 4,008 suspected cases were added, which means many of the previous ones were ruled out

900 deaths to 3000 recovered is a pretty significant number of people dying versus recovering. Or am I looking at those numbers wrong?

Too early to tell, but it seems promising.

It takes a little longer to be declared "recovered". Death is pretty straightforward.

Deaths led recoveries for a while.

How long you gonna sugar coat it? Pandora’s box has been opened, thankfully God is looking out for His people and it doesn’t effect them.

You can find plenty in this thread who will hunt down the doom and gloom studies and articles. Ignore my optimism and your life should be fine.

I should have been more active on OT instead of OB 3 years ago. You’d get my sarcasm, perhaps this isn’t the right thread. I don’t think we are fully out of the woods yet, it appears to be isolated to a certain demographic. I’m going to leave it at that
