This could just as easily be an article about the harm that private equity firms do to business concerns by taking on massive debt, paying cash to the principals, and letting the business wither on the vine until they file for bankruptcy to stiff the creditors. Of course Covid didn't help, but this same playbook has brought down a lot of successful and popular brands.

While I understand what you are saying with Leveraged Buyouts, this one wasn't nearly as bad as others. For the size of the company, a billion in debt isn't great, but it also isn't nearly as bad as other companies are dealing with.

But anytime you have a debt load, not having cash coming in to pay it off will be an issue. Perhaps if they didn't do an LBO, their debt load would be much less, this is true. But, if "relatively" low-debt LBOs like the Chuck are blowing up, it's going to get a lot worse.

Private equity LBO, plus a modernization campaign to upgrade their locations.

We took our 3 year old son to Chuck E Cheese last year for the first time and he loved it. We went again several times after that. He liked it so much that Santa brought him some giftcards in his stocking, but he hasn't had a chance to use them yet this year because of the virus. Looks like we may not get to use them

They’re about to freaking pay their 27 executives each about a million dollars in bonuses. Absolutely stupid.

You can order a large cheese pizza to go for $5 and $3 goody bags for pick up. We do it once a week.

Can't think of too many places so absolutely disgusting as the Chuck E Cheese I was forced to go to one time.

I say burn them all down. Only way to do this right.
